i kinda happen to like the trade idea i came up with. i dont wanna trade jalen cuz he is a good player to complement bosh.

Toronto trades: PG Milt Palacio (5.5 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 3.6 apg in 19.2 minutes)
PF Aaron Williams (1.6 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 0.3 apg in 7.2 minutes)
    C Loren Woods (4.2 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 0.4 apg in 16.5 minutes)
SF Eric Williams (8.1 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.8 apg in 25.9 minutes)
PF Donyell Marshall (10.6 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 1.1 apg in 24.4 minutes)
Toronto receives: PG Bob Sura (10.8 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 5.3 apg in 33.4 minutes)
Andre Barrett (No games yet played in 2004/05)
    C Dikembe Mutombo (4.0 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 0.1 apg in 13.6 minutes)
SF Clarence Weatherspoon (2.2 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 0.2 apg in 7.6 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -13.0 ppg, -5.8 rpg, and -1.6 apg.

Houston trades: PG Bob Sura (10.8 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 5.3 apg in 33.4 minutes)
Andre Barrett (No games yet played in 2004/05)
    C Dikembe Mutombo (4.0 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 0.1 apg in 13.6 minutes)
SF Clarence Weatherspoon (2.2 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 0.2 apg in 7.6 minutes)
Houston receives: PG Milt Palacio (5.5 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 3.6 apg in 19.2 minutes)
PF Aaron Williams (1.6 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 0.3 apg in 7.2 minutes)
    C Loren Woods (4.2 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 0.4 apg in 16.5 minutes)
SF Eric Williams (8.1 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.8 apg in 25.9 minutes)
PF Donyell Marshall (10.6 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 1.1 apg in 24.4 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +13.0 ppg, +5.8 rpg, and +1.6 apg.

    TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to Toronto and Houston being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Toronto and Houston had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

I kinda like the houston one. because donyell's contract is big u have to have throwins like 2nd round picks and stuff.
I'd like to know what you think!

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting VinKanaddy:</div><div class="quote_post">I don't know if I'd want Jonathan Bender... Sure he has a lot of potential but he can't play a full week without an injury here and there. Too slow to play as a swingman (he came in as a SF at 6'10" but grew to 7') and too skinny to play the post. I love Ron as a player but again, I'm not too sure if his volatile personality is what we need with Rafer and Mitchell already having their share of problems, besides he's out until end of the season.</div>

Even if we didnt play bender, its still a trade where we get Artest. And i think Artest would fit well with Mitchell. He's not immature like Rafer, and he plays hard defense and goes hard on offense with good %'s....which is i think why Mitchell is not fond of Rafer.

At very lest why didnt we try to send Jalen and Marshall to the Sixers for G. Rob's expiring contract!"

Babcock is trying to package Rose and Marshall expiring contract together in any trade that has been offered to him. No teams are biting and it looks like Marshall will stay a Raptor for the remainder of the season.

A very hot rumour right now, Chad Ford just said that the Raps and Cavs are discussing this trade:

    Raptors Trade: Marhsal+Woods
    Raptors Recieve: Diop+Wagner+Pavlovic.

(Wagnor and Diop are free agents this summer)

Well they took on Mashborns huge contract...he's gotta make close to what Jalen makes. I think babcock needs to do something...not let Marshall go to waste.

I like the sounds of that....we'd drop Wagnor and Diop, unless they start to show promise there's no reason to re-sign them. Pavlovic from what i'm told has alot of potential.

I'm interested to know why the response "smoking is not good for your health".
Does that mean you think its a bad trade for the Celts, or the Raptors? I think its reasonable.

The Cets get some good players and only really give up Tony Allen. They'd compete in the Atlantic along with Phili. And they dont loose any flexibility since Yell's contract is expiring and E.Will is very affordable and very tradeable.

The Raptors loose some talent but get a good young player and a possible pick if it was included.

    I think its very good.

I think its very good.</div>This trade is amazing........for the RAPTORS. But I think the trade is unreasonable for the Celtics. Tony Allen just played in the rookie/sophomore game and the direction Danny Ainge is heading, it wouldn't be logical for him to give him up, especially for Donyell and EWill. Danny wants to get younger and even though Donyell will come off the cap it would not serve them to get rid of one of their most promising players in Allen.

Also they didn't re-sign EWill last season so I don't know why they would want to bring him back if they didn't want him in the first place.

Also Googs and Stewart are both coming off the cap next season. If Danny wanted cap flexibility it would be better for him to let Googs and Stewarts contracts run out rather than acquire Donyells expiring one.

BTW 4 minutes to go. Babcock does not make a move at all. I think the scrutiny from the VC trade scared him away from dealing Donyell. That or there were really no deals on the table that were enticing enough to take.

I guess you're right...i didnt think about the EWill situation. Boston does have a chance of doing pretty well this season if they picked up those 2 players though, and they still have some young talent to develop. So i dont think its crazy. But who knows.

I've never been against any of Babs moves, even when most people were bashing them (Hoffa, VC) however if he does nothing with Marshall i'll be a little perplexed. There's gotta be someone out there with a young player and a player thats got a mid sized expiring contract that isnt producing. Marshall would make any team better, so i dont understand it. I liked the Dorrel Wright thing, i like tony allen, i like Pavlovic....anything.

An article for those very dissapointed in the non-activity of Babcock

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">

There is a strong chance the Raptors will not make any trades today.

That's not to rule out the possibility. You know how these things go.

A large number of NBA teams have made lame offers for Raptors forward Donyell Marshall. Somehow these teams got the impression the Raptors might be fooled into giving up something for nothing.

Now where, pray tell, would they get such an idea?

Anyway, some clubs may up the ante today as the league deadline approaches at 3 p.m. But as of last night nothing yet had tickled the fancy of Raptors general manager Rob Babcock, who to this point is known as the man who traded Vince Carter for three barely warm bodies and a couple of long-shot draft picks.
