With the NBA Trade Deadline coming to an end on Thursday Feb 24, at 3:00 PM EST, there will be many trade rumors that will arrive on surface. So I decided to make this thread, solely for trade rumors that will be coming up today and within the next few days involving the 76ers... If you have any information on trade rumors involving the 76ers or questions, please post it here. <div align="center">--</div> The latest in trade rumors involving the 76ers is a deal with the Raptors that would send Samuel Dalembert over to Toronto and Marshall to Philadelphia. There was word that the Raptors offered Marhsall to the 76ers in return for Samuel Dalembert, but Billy King supposedly turned down that offer. However, it seems as if the 76ers are willing to part away with Dalemebert after all. According to Fanball.com the 76ers are offering Dalembert for Donyell Marshall, and if this rumor is indeed true, there is a major possibility this trade may go down. Badcock [Raptors GM] has been pursuing Dalembert for some time now, so if King is really willing to part away with Dalembert, this trade could be as good as done. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Raptors general manager Rob Babcock may need to set up an answering service this week in order to field all the trade proposals he continues to receive. Many of them center around forward Donyell Marshall and the latest had the 76ers offering center Samuel Dalembert, reports the Toronto Sun.</div> <div align="center">Source</div> Another trade swirling around is Glenn Robinson for Jamal Mashburn and Rodney Rogers. It also seems as if the 76ers wouldn't mind teaming Baron Davis with Allen Iverson as well. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The glitch to the above scenario, as I understand it, is the 76ers, who, by the way, would love to plant Davis alongside Allen Iverson; the Hawks also are said to be interested in his perishable goods. Before the Hornets send Davis on his miserable way, they're determined to relocate Jamal Mashburn ($9.3M, $10M), whose retirement will become official at year's end (insurance will assume 80 percent of next season's salary) and Rodney Rogers ($2.7M) for Glenn Robinson ($12.07M).</div> <div align="center">Source</div>
Is Billy going to face his decision solely on that of O'Brien's thoughts on Dalembert? If so, he once again will get battered by Sixers fans. If he lets this thing go on, he will be losing something great. How many more years of rebuilding can one team take?
The Sixers won't trade young talent like Dalembert( I hope) for an aging Donyell Marshall. Imagine how much size we would loose in that deal. That deal leaves us with one true center, so I seriously doubt it happens.
I have mixed feelings about this. Yes, we will lose tremendous potential talent and size with Dalembert out of the picture, but in return we get a very solid player that would make this team much better. So when you look at it, this is a "now" or "future" decision. If we let go of Dalemebert we lose a big part of our future, if we acquire Marshall he could be one of they key's to a championship run that we've been waiting for. You must also take into account that he?s not going to be like the other second fiddle guys that we signed to compliment Iverson such as Robinson, Stackhouse, Hughes, Harping which are all G's and SF's. So playing with a big man and him being a 3pt shooter as well could very well help. So this is going to be a tough decision and time period for Billy King, and I for one am happy to see this. As of right now, Billy King is pressured to do something drastic and that?s what we need. We need a change and if comes down to letting on of our young guy go, then so be it. Something has to be done with this roster, and with ongoing rumors from Iverson camp of Iverson not being to happy with this team, he[King] must be facing some kind of pressure and that?s a good thing because that?s the only he would actually make a move. Like history has shown, King has not been the one to make one too many moves, now while that good be a good thing at the same time a change here and there could always be needed and that's what must be done. ? Also can someone please tell me why we signed Brian Skinner? O?Brien knew this guy wouldn?t fit with the system so why did he urge King to sign him?
I think they might move b diddy to sg or something. i don't think it would be good for AI's stats, but i think if B Diddy comes, it will help this team. i don't think ai would be angry if his stats are lowered, because he says he wants to play for a good team. with b diddy, i think the sixers will be better, and will win the atlanic division. the only thing is is that i hope b diddy won't get injured a lot, since he's an injury prone. also, B Diddy has a big contract. BOTTOM LINE: I hope a trade will go down ,especially if it involves glenn robinson or aaron mckie. And yes, I've heard rumors about this too.
I`m just really hoping King doesn`t trade away parts of our future such as Sammy D, Korver, or even Willie Green. I`m not sure how a Davis-Iverson duo would work out. As for Mashburn, how close to 100% is he? Does this team really need a broken down star on the team? Hopefully something goes down.
Wow seein Sam going away is like me not sleeping naked...it would be so cold...Who gonan be center? Aint Marshall a PF? Wow...im lost....if Davis comes in...who would play Shooting Guard?
King has already said that none of the young guys are going anywhere. But there is small talk about Baron Davis coming to Philly. A back court of AI and BD could be lethal, but it would also have it's negatives. But that kind of situation would be a wait and see type situation in my opinion.
I was just watchin NBA TV and Tom McGinnis was a guest and it sounded like that got info from Peter Vescey about the B. Davis trade for Glen Robinson. I hope this is true.
IT WAS JUST ANNOUNCED THAT THE PHILADELPHIA 76ERS HAVE OFFICIALLY ACQUIRED CHRIS WEBBER. Details of the trade have not been revealed. We do not know who we're giving up. However, Webber is definitely joining the organization. Let the celebration begin.
