Sorry for the lack of depth on tonights preview, but none the less here it is. Sacramento starts the second half of the season off with the traditional feast for struggling teams, the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks have shuffled their starting lineup a bit after the all star break, and will have a much more athletic starting lineup. The Kings will again be without the services of Stojakovic who is stilll nursing a hamstring injury. Keys for the game: Sacramento must play better defensively. The week leading up to the break saw the worst stretch of ball since the arrival of Adelman. Of course as always rebounding is something so important, yet so lacking with the Kings this year that pointing it out at this point is not only redundant, but repeating yourself unnessicarily. Fortunatly for the Kings, there is no better team in the leage to go up against after a egg-laying performance as Sacramento has put up. This is not going to be an easy task for the Kings however. While the Hawks are decidedly the worst team in the leage to this point, they have talent in places where the Kings have severe weakneses specifically athleticism. If the Hawks make smart shots and do even a half way decient job of boxing out for rebounds, they will have a chance to win this game. My predictions: Sacramento 97 Atlanta 89
Kings win it 114-104 Webber showed up tonight and played a fairly solid game leading all scorers. A better offensive showing than I had felt either team would give, the Hawks were hanging around really untill the final couple minutes of the game. Again, the Hawks proved to be exactly what the Kings needed in order to get their game into form for the upcoming six game road trip. Hopefully they will play better on the road trip than they played tonight because some of the team that are coming up in the next few games are not going to be as easy to deal with as the Hawks were tonight.
And finally... Here is your play of the game as voted by me! Barnes makes a block & Webber throws down at the other end As with all of my clips, please right click & save as. You must have the divX codec installed.
Anybody see this game?Did the kings hold a fair sized lead through the whole game?Even though it was the hawks, did the Sac look sharp?
