If they waive him, the front office will have dropped the ball big time. This sequence is getting worse and worse: Draft Jamison -> trade Jamison for Van Exel -> trade Van Exel for Dickau and Davis -> trade Dickau for $1M trade exception -> waive Davis?
That's a nice way to look at it. I like that sequence of events. I just say let him stay and finish the season as a Warrior. What do they have to lose anyway?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting GSWScruff:</div><div class="quote_post"> Draft Jamison -> trade Jamison for Van Exel -> trade Van Exel for Dickau and Davis -> trade Dickau for $1M trade exception -> waive Davis? </div> Actually you could make it worse: Draft Vince Carter-> Trade VC for Jamison -> trade Jamison for Van Exel -> trade Van Exel for Dickau and Davis -> trade Dickau for $1M trade exception -> waive Davis?

At this point I'd rather have Richardson anyways.
I like DD as a player, but I know he will be gone pretty soon and he is an attraction to other teams, but waiving him would be the worst case scenario in this whole thing of getting rid of DD
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Jamison was super hyped up as the ACC college players of the year for scoring and rebounding and we wanted him more than Carter and the Raps wanted Carter more than Jamison. I can't believe the W's sent cash along with that draft pick...</div> In what I wrote above, what I meant was, we had no chance at Carter anyway because they would have picked Carter first had they done it themselves. And then we would have gotten Antwan Jamison since we were right after them. What was dumb was we even sent cash along with them. I don't think anything is going to be happening by tomorrow. Not enough valuable trade pieces. Even our rooks we won't be trading because of the playing time required to boost their stats up and the fact we get too attached to them when they start playing well. (i.e. Dunleavy, Pietrus). But I guess the W's would be absolutely violated if they trade those guys for the crap GM's are throwing to us. Even the Redd trade was the most bogus trade rumor I've heard thus far. Doesn't help both sides.
Something NEEDS to get done by tomorrow. If Mullin thinks staying pat and not making any moves is going to solve anything he is dead wrong. Sure we can rely on the development of the youth, but come on now how long have we tried that route and failed. It's time for the Warriors front office to get some BALLS and take some risks. If you think signing Fisher was a risk, give me a break. He was a safe pick up, nothing that would put the Warriors over the hump. If Davis is waived, and we dont get anything in return for him, Mullin is officially an idiot!
For the last time, Warriors didn't draft Carter. It was a prearranged deal, and there is no chance of us drafting Carter to begin with...
I agree with you San Quinn. Right now my prefered deal for the deadline would be Fisher, Davis, and Dunleavy for Jiri Welsch, Gary Payton, and Raef LaFrentz. Sure we take on LaFrentz big contract but look who we get rid of.
The warriors need to find an identity and stick with it. Are we going to be the high scoring, small ball team, or is Monty still going to try and fit the Warriors into a half court offense. Dunleavy seems to flourish in a small ball lineup, while when he plays the traditional SF, he rarely shows anything special. We have a lot of great trade pieces, a lot of them which wont fit good together. Pietrus for example is the odd man out right now. I remember Higgins saying on the Warriors pre game a while back, that they expected major changes. He better not be messing with me cause I am counting on it!
San Quinn, I agree once again, the thing that needs to happen is that we get some big men and dump Fisher and DD. I think the Warriors should stick with the small ball lineup, everyone, even Fisher does good with it. The thing that should happen in Mullin's mind is Pietrus and a second round pick for Nene. I like Pietrus, but he hasn't been doing to good so Mullin would fell inclined to dump him
Nene would be a great fit with the Warriors. I big man with post game who can play some D, plus he is young and on the rise.
I'd love to be able to move Fisher and Davis for something of value at this point, but that is a lot of salary to move in 34 hours. I would like to think that management has got something planned, but the pot has been on the stove for months and it's nearly out of water.
^I see what you mean, but at this point I think Mullin is preparing to move Speedy and Pietrus. Unless something bad happens during trade time, here comes the paperbag
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Kwan1031:</div><div class="quote_post">For the last time, Warriors didn't draft Carter. Had there been no pre-erranged deal, they could have gotten Carter by themselves and we still would have ended up with Jamison. It was lame.
San Quinn, don't forget the one thing about the W's is once they do find an identity, it certainly won't be on the defensive end
