To bad that Mash won't ever play for us. If he could ever get healthy I defifantly think he could be a solid contributor. But like others have stated we get a pretty solid role player in Rogers.

Really a solid trade for us, long term especially.

I dont see how this trade benefits the 76ers in long term, Rogers and Mashburn are vets and dont have too many productive years left. Unless Mashburns contract is expiring and Rogers is about to rejuvinate like Vin Baker last year and Vince Carter did this year. I like the Webber trade a lot better, but none of these trades seem long-term planned out trades. BTW Since today I am a sixers fan.

Mash is retiring buddy, he hasn't played all year and he won't ever play for the Sixers. Rodney Rodgers contract can expire after this season, I think it might be his option. The rest of the thread says it all, we picked up Mash for insurance reasons and we'll only have to pay 20% of his salary next year or something like that. So yes it does help long term.

This was a money deal...Mashburn's contract is covered by insurance and since he's retired it says that they will pay 80% of his contract for the remianing 2 years, which means the Sixers only pay 2 years at 20%....Paying Mashburn not to play at 20% for 2 years comes out to be cheaper than paying Robinson his 12 mill this season not to play....On top of that, NO threw in Rogers who played great under O'Brien in Boston and fits perfectly into this system....He should bring depth at the 4 to this team as well as spread the floor when he's in there along with Korver...It will be raining 3's in Phily when these two are on the court, and will give AI room to drive to the basket while having the opposing team's PF out on the perimeter to guard Rogers....That's basically what O'Brien's system wants to happen with the 3 point shooting PF...Until now, we didn't have one in Philly under O'Brien...

I knew Mashburn was retiring but I just didnt know when, but I still think both of the sixers deals were good but not really panned out for long term success. IF Mashburn retires and the sixers only have to pay him 20% of his salary then it was a good deal because cap wont be as crowded and the sixers can resign Korver and Iggy when there rookie contracts are over (I dont know exactly how long that is though), but Webber's contract is here for 3 more years if I'm not mistaken.

Korver's contract ends after the season, along with Green's...We have their bird rights, which means we can't match any offer up the the MLE...Any offer above that and we're screwed...

Iggy is still under his contract which is 3 years and then a team option, I believe...
