NO is going to completely rebuild and they have a ton of money to do so now with Baron and Mashburn gone in exchange for cap space. Over the next few years look for them to start getting tons of free agents with talent. Maybe they'll make a run at Ray Allen AND Donyell Marshall this year to team up with Magloire.
New Orleans will no doubt be the biggest players in the FA market this summer. Allen or Redd could be perfectly possible, but they have to have a direction first. The team didn't take a chance on fortifying it last summer, and that was basically what caused Baron Davis to want to leave. Byron Scott is really pissed off at taking the coaching gig now.
Allen and Redd aren't going to want to go there. New Orleans will be big players for the 2nd tier free agents, Stromile Swift, maybe Bobby Simmons and Joe Johnson, but I see them going to better teams. New Orleans also isn't that desirable a place to go for players, so I don't know if guys would really want to go there. I love all the trades they did though, they cut a mad amount of cap, got Golden State's 1st round pick, and got Speedy Claxton. They didn't get the value back for Baron, but that's not what they were looking for, they just wanted youth, picks and cap.
They did well in 1 sense. NO will (or at least should) get 2 good rookies with talent (your pick and G-states). Got plenty of space, should they want to attract someone with a big contract, and did get some youth. However, in honesty does NO have enough to attrack players like Allen away ? I cant see it.

I wish some of you guys would check your sources before assuming a pick was included. Unless, you guys are talking about a future pick that was dealt way, way earlier, and not this season. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Golden State acquires Baron Davis from New Orleans for Speedy Claxton and Dale Davis.</div> http://www.nba.com/transactions/feb2005_trans.html There's no pick involved.
