I heard the same. I believe he is going to take #9, to represent 9th pick. Not 100 percent sure on that though.
I heard it was out of the respect Iguodala had for him when he was part of the the Fab five. A player that respects the past? Thats respect. BTW Can a player change his jersey number to #69? Just wondering....
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">A few hours after being traded from Sacramento to beef up Philadelphia's low-post game, Chris Webber scored on his first move as a 76ers player: Talking new teammate Andre Iguodala into giving up his jersey. Chris Webber has had memories both good and bad while wearing No. 4 throughout his basketball career. For many players, including Webber, being traded means packing the bags, getting out of town and making sure that everything is numerically sound in the new home. Webber did exactly that by striking a deal with Iguodala, who will turn his No. 4 over to Webber and take No. 9. Iguodala was the ninth pick in last year's NBA draft. The cost? Apparently nothing.</div> Link Yeah it was out of respect that Iguodala did this. And Courtvision, as far as I know, I think a player can probably pick #69 for a jersey number, but that might screw up his reputation among critics- I don't know.
It was funny. Iverson and Webber were talking and Webber said, "Doesn't someone already have #4?" Iverson said yeah, but it's a rookie. Either way the numbers are irrelevant to what they can do on the floor. It should be interesting though. For those who had Iggy jerseys it officially becomes a throw back tommorow!
Craig Sager during the Knicks game (on TNT) said Webber will give Iggy $1,000 for each year C-Webb's been in a league...tallying up to be either $11,000 or $13,000....I forget which he said...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting CourtVision:</div><div class="quote_post"> BTW Can a player change his jersey number to #69? Just wondering....</div> My number was 69 when I was in high school i wrote #69 on all my stuff. They made me wear #20, but i still wore shoes that said #69. Everyone thought i was perverted so I changed it to #13 in respects to Wilt (I was a Philly fan since i was 10. In 2000 on I played in the streets of Philly, I changed my nuimber to 53. "5" was for Donovan McNabb, "3" Was for allen Iverson. "35" looked lame and "53" stuck.
Webber in Philly! I couldn't believe the Kings traded him. I am officially a sixers fan (after baby bulls of course) cuz webber is my favorite player after marquis daniels.. yeah i was watchin the game and i thought it was funny as hell too at what AI said. philly nba champs 2005
^^Read wut mrj18 said...if u bought a Iggy jersey when he wearing #4...sell it worth more because it is a throwback...
Andre Iguodala is a class act, Webber is a perennial all-star but he got snubbed this year and he shouldnt have but I expect big things from the sixers after being turned into a sixers fan after I saw there nationally televised game on NBA TV a few days ago against the knicks. Iggy is a great player and should be a sure pick for one of the ROY candidates.
either way when they win their division and get the 3rd seed they gonna loose in the first round to the Chicago Bulls
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Umer remU:</div><div class="quote_post">either way when they win their division and get the 3rd seed they gonna loose in the first round to the Chicago Bulls</div> i think the sixers will get the eighth or seventh seed. i haven't looked at the celts or sixers upcoming schedule so i don't know, but the men in green are back. the sixers will knock off the heat in the 1st round..i can't believe i just said that.

Even if we DO pllaly against the Bullsl, it'll be a toss up, so pllease....dont say stupid sh*t lilke that

Secondly, the Bulls pretty have no Playoff experience which will play major dividends if both teams were to meet each other in the Playoff's. Yes, the Chicago Bulls own the season serious, but once it's Playoff time, it's a completely different league. Teams play different and superstars step up, which includes Allen Iverson. Will the Bulls have an answer for The Answer in the Playoffs? Remember Iverson is 2nd All-Time in Playoff's PPG. Other than Michael Jordan there is no player in NBA history that scores more than Iverson as far as averages goes. Also how would Gordon perform playing under the spotlight once it comes down to the wire in a Playoff series? So basically there are too many questions that need to be answered for the Bulls once they reach the Playoffs. And to think I didn't even get to Webber yet. We all know about his experience in the Playoff's.
