I hope to see him go back to Boston, because they really don't have a PG now with him gone, so he should just get his spot right back...

it would be interesting to see wat he would wdo witht he kings. THe kings image would have relaly changed IMO.

I would cut out the spurs and suns. It will mostlikely be Celtics or Miami. Possibly albeit, IMO very unlikely be the kings.

Gary Payton is washed up and I would like to see him just retire instead of moving onto teams like Sacramento, San Antonio and Miami.

There's nothing washed up about averaging 12 points and 6 assists a game. Gary can still play the game at a high level. He is past his prime but he is still a good player. Why retire when you are still producing?

good point. As long as he serves as something in a plus. He didnt seem worth it though when he played for LA. I havent payed much attention when he played for Boston this year but Im sure hes an alright pickup.

The Glove's still got a few useful and productive years left in him, he's one of my favorite all-time players and I'd hate to see him retire the way Malone did, Without a ring. Gary should go back to Boston and play there with Banks, West and Allen and teach them the parts of the game they dont know, IF GP returns to Beantown they will be a contender for sure.

Realistically, the Celtics still won't be title contenders even with Payton back, I can tell you that. They are still a solid big man away from a trip to the ECF. Walker is a semi-present post presence as he also plays away from the basket plenty of occasions. Lafrentz, Blount, Jefferson and Perkins won't be anywhere close to guarding Shaq effectively, and there's even the possibility that Boston will not even win its division, since Philadelphia are also much stronger with the Webber deal. If Payton gets back, the race for the Atlantic will be a very interesting two-man race, but there is no way the Celtics will get to the Finals.

IMO he will never retire on top for the way he acted in L.A.

He has definatly been picked up by the Celtics and will play either Wednsday against The Lakers or Friday against the Bobcats.

if he goes back to the celts and they do well you gotta think about Danny Ainge for exec of the year....trading mainly payton for walker then getting payton back? Great job if he pulls it off..
