The 20-year-old from Endeavour Hills is likely to have commitments in the NBA next March, leaving him with no option but to miss the Games in his home town.
"Of course I am disappointed, but right now I have to put my career here in the US ahead of my country," Bogut said.

The 213cm giant has made a huge impression in his second year playing for the University of Utah and is expected to go in the top five in the June NBA draft in New York.

"There is plenty of media speculation here in America that I could go one, but I don't care if I go one or 10. I just want to fulfil a dream and my first choice would be to stay here in Utah and play for the Jazz in the NBA," Bogut said.</div>

I certainly wouldn't complain if the Jazz drafted Andrew Bogut...we'll have to get a top 3 pick though. Maybe the Jazz can get lucky in the NBA draft lottery and jump up a couple of spots so they'll have a shot at Bogut.

It would also help the Jazz's fan base, considering he plays for the University of Utah.

Even though Utah need a PG badly, if Bogut is available the Jazz should take him. How many players these days actually want to play for the Jazz? He has a lot of upside, and is improving by the game. He should have a good future in the NBA.

I'm not a big Jazz watcher, but is point guard really the spot you need to improve on most? Keith McLeod seems to be doing an admirable job, and Lopez looked promising last season. Meanwhile, you have Bochardt and Collins at center. Wouldn't that position grant an even bigger need?

I think most of us Jazz fans (at least me) are looking for consistency from the PG postion. It's crucial to the type of system the Jazz run. In the draft, it would be really nice if the Jazz could pick up someone there so we don't have to keep running a "PG by committy" like we are this season.

Memo plays most of the minutes for us at the 5. If we drafted Bogut, it would give us great flexiblity in our frontcourt.

If the Jazz pick up Bogut, Jack, or Paul in the draft, I'll be pleased. If we find a way to get two of them...I'd be estatic.
