<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The next time the NBA decides to promote a Rivalry Week set of games, maybe the league should leave the Lakers and Detroit Pistons off the schedule.
The teams met for the second time since last June's NBA Finals, and the result was as one-sided as ever, with the Pistons giving the Lakers a 111-90 whipping Friday night at Staples Center.

"They didn't even have to turn it up," Kobe Bryant said. "They were just very basic. They just ran drop plays, isolation plays, and they just went to work down there."

The Lakers trailed from start to finish for the second time this season against the reigning world-champion Pistons. They dropped the games by a combined 43 points and drew strong condemnation from interim coach Frank Hamblen.

"They basically toyed with us tonight," Hamblen said.

The boos started midway through the fourth quarter, when the Lakers turned over the ball on five consecutive possessions. Detroit shot 53.7 percent and put up more points in regulation than any other game this season.

"It was a snowball effect tonight," Lamar Odom said. "Just a bad game for us all the way around."</div> Source
