O'Neal leaped for an alley-oop pass from Miami Heat teammate Dwyane Wade early in Tuesday night's game, a seemingly innocent play. Yet the 7-foot-1, 325-pound behemoth landed awkwardly, toppled over Bulls forward Othella Harrington -- and immediately knew something was wrong. ``It didn't feel right when I landed,'' O'Neal said Saturday, speaking in depth about the injury for the first time with reporters. ``I thought it was over. ``I've always had fears of ending my career like that,'' O'Neal added. ``As a youngster, when I'd talk to certain people and they would try to motivate us to go to school, the first thing they'd always say was 'What are you going to do when you blow your knee out?' ... I've always had fears of coming down freakily like that.'' </div> Source
To bad he didn't I think there is a little exaggeration here though, honestly. It didn't look career-ending. I have seen a lot worse injuries than this one. I thought maybe his season was over, not his career though. But then again, he went through it, I just saw it.

That's a pretty drastic statement from Shaq. Especially considering the knee injury is a day to day one.
I can see where Shaq is coming from because you always think the worst of an injury straight away. Plus all the weight he carries around was coming down on that knee. But, its not career thretening at this stage it is day to day and you have got to be happy with that. I will never understand why people wish bad things on others, even if they do not like them, say nothing at all. Don't hate Kobe 8
