We wouldn't of gotten draft picks with Webber, so who cares.

Sacramento's GM would've taken Houston's giant contract if Allan's not playing?
He's been critizied cause of that move, imagine what he would've got if he would've taken Houston's contract.

Yeah, and who would we have traded? I know the Sixers gave up practically nothing, but compared to what the Knicks had to offer it was more than we could've given up without ruining our young nucleus. Could Webber have been the component Marbury needed? Yeah. Would we be a better team with his presence? You bet. Is Isiah Thomas the dumbest GM to ever run a basketball team? Well, that's debatable and off topic, but I like to throw little things like that in there.

We woulda given up Kurt who is much better than anyone the Sixers gave up plus we coulda given them a soon expiring contract in Penny.

Kurt Thomas is a great mentor for Michael Sweetney. His hard work and grittiness is certaintly something you want all young players to feed off of and learn from. Now, picture Webber in a game, shooting 3s and missing clutch shots...that's not exactly what Michael Sweetney needs to see.

is webber really what you guys need? more offense? come on...he's not a good fit imo.

kenny thomas, corliss williamson and skinner is a pretty good package imo...kurt and houston/penny isnt even CLOSE to the same package. skinner and corliss arent exactly throw-ins. they will get good minutes and will contribute. skinner will give them a tough low post defender, corliss will give them a punch off the bench...i dont see penny OR houston doing that...so sacto got a way better deal from philly then what ny were offering imo

you're really overrating kurt, and underrating kenny. they shoot around the same percentage...average the same amount of ppg. kurt avg's 4 more rpg, but kenny is 5 yrs younger, and still in his 20's. kurt is a better low post defender, but kenny isnt exactly a defensive siv.

i wouldnt say that kurt thomas is MUCH better then kenny...one COULD make an argument that they would rather have kenny on their team. either way...i still think that the philly deal was better then what ny were offering

I wouldn't want to see Webber here either. First off, Webber is not the defensove element we'd want. We give a HUGE contract to a player in his 30's and his past with injuries is very risky to depend on. Also, if Webber gets his 30+ minutes, what will that do to Sweetney? Also Sacramento doesn't want Houston's contract. They'd probably want us to give them Penny and TT next year. I'm not willing to do that for the likes of Webber. Let Webber stay in Philly while they take a huge risk, and let us play it safe and make smarter decisions with our moves. Webber is not the answer at all.

    Shakes head towards Isiah...

    Marbury
    Crawford
    TT/JYD/Ariza
    Webber/Sweetney
    Mohammed/Baker

So what if Webber would put us over the cap for another year. We're over the cap for the next decade why not add another year to guarantee playoffs and probably to the second round.

Kurt Thomas has allegedly been bait for a dozen deals that never happened- Sac wanted younger, underpaid players
