When Nash didn't start, I thought we were done for. It was alright against the Clippers, but surely not Dallas. Amazingly we came back from 6 down in the final 80 seconds or so to snatch a win on a JJ shot and a Matrix block. Awesome effort by the team to come away with the W

Apparently the block was a contrversial non-call. Will wait for the highlights to see for myself but we may have been lucky.

Marion got some hand, but the hand is considered part of the ball, so as long as he didn't get any arm it wasn't a foul. I guess Amare still sucks without Nash, 33 points on 13-20 shooting, what terrible numbers, also had 10 rebounds and 3 blocks.

^^That's some good sarcasm og15. But yeah, the Suns are really showing that they are good enough to win without Nash. The collective team had a great game except for turnovers and defense, but what matters is the W. I'm especially loving how Q has really picked up his game and has started to vary his shots from 3's to driving layups to post up jumpers. Plus he did a great job defending Mike Finley, even with a hurt achilles. His all-around great game is gonna be real important come playoff time.

BTW, the block was clean. The only reason I don't doubt it is because it was Matrix that did it. He's been getting those types of blocks his whole career. If it was Hunter or Amare, there would have definitely been more contact.

Q-Rich looks like he is changing his game after the all-star break, tonight he has 10-18 with only 9 threes taken (well it's still alot). 2-0 without Nash, stay on the sidelines a little more Steve we are on a roll [IMG] Everybody seemed like they came through in the clutch, JJ of course with the game winner, Marion with a block on Dirk, and Q with a go ahead three, with a minute left. What a game!

Pretty disappointed we didn't get the W today. With Nash out and no Amare for most of the last quarter, we clawed back but couldn't hold a lead, and then got dominated in OT. Would have been nice to go 3-0 in this little stretch without Steve.

Back to the Mavs game, Dirk said he thought he got hit on the head on the final play. It didn't appear so to me and his immediate reaction wasn't to grab his head either. It didn't appear that Marion got any arm, so it was either enough of a blow onto the ball to jar it loose or a bit of the hand.

I'll respond to this the same way coach D'Antoni did. Other teams score a lot against us because of the fast pace offense the Suns play. To really measure their defense, you have to look at pts/possesion. Opponents get a lot of possesions each game because the Suns push the ball so much. Other supposedly "better" defensive teams like the Spurs and Pistons, play a snail's pace style game, so their opponents don't get as much possesion, and therefore less chances to score. If you look at points per possesion, the Suns are an above average defensive team.

Points per game allowed means very little.Points per possesion? How about field goal percentage allowed. The Suns really arent THAT bad on defense. The only weaknesses are Nash and their front court because they play small ball.I really thought the Suns would start using Hunter or get a big man before the trade deadline.I guess theyve commited to small ball and I guess that means they'll learn the lesson the Mavericks had to learn last year.
