Poor Jerry Rice...his career is coming to an end, not with a bang, but with a whimper... I'd like to see Favre throw to him for a year, though. ******************* Greatest Of All Time On A Job Hunt The Greatest of All Time wants to play one more year but does anyone want him? According to Peter King of Sport Illustrated, Jerry Rice?s agent Jim Steiner recently sent a fax to all 32 NFL Teams that said: To: All NFL Clubs From: Jim Steiner Subject: The GOAT(Greatest of All-Time), Jerry Rice Jerry would like to make 2005 his last year in the NFL. Any takers?? Please call if you thing there might be a fit!? According to King, Steiner had talks with two teams in the offseason but nothing has come to fruition. Rice would like to play but no team appears to be willing to take on the specter of Jerry Rice as a third or fourth wide receiver. In King?s opinion, Rice might be a good fit with Atlanta, Baltimore, or the New York Giants. Steiner is quoted as saying that Jerry didn?t ask him to send the fax. Rice feels he can be productive but because he is 42, nobody wants him.
He should go to Detroit. They've used their #1 pick the last three years on receivers. Jerry could be the player/coach at #4.
Id love to see Jerry catch a few from Brett, He could be a nice stop gap until this whole Javon Walker Thing blows over.

http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/8483363 It seems that Jerry Rice wants to reunite with Mike Shanahan and the Broncos.
Here's a thought. The guy has nothing left, and he should retire. Looks like I am part of the minority on this issue.
The Giants would be a perfect fit, plus they are one of only a few clubs that have a 3rd WR competition this year. Think about this for a minute Eli Plaxico Burress Jeremy Shockey Toomer Barber Jerry Rice all on the field on the same team at the same time.
i think jerry could be a good third down type wide out. The guy still has great hands that hasnt changed tho his speed isnt what it once was i believe he would be a good zone wide out. Just sit in the window, catch it, and fall over...get up and do it again
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Pack Attack)</div><div class='quotemain'>He's talking to the Broncos now... Shannahan drafted Clarett, so he's done crazier things. </div> LOL!, Plus he traded Droughns for nothing lol
Had the 'phins not signed Boston, JR might have been a good fit in Miami? Even now, I would not be against Rice in Aqua & orange in 05. Though, would his ego be content w/ being the #4 WR?
i think he should retire too and maybe become a WR coach or something i mean they said he may help Seattle wrs but they just dropped even more footballs including him. Great player but its enough.
Theres a report from an Italian Packers site that Jerry will come in and work out for the packers on tuesday if he isn't signed.
