Makes sense for the Knicks to look for some unknown talent and possibly find themselves a solid player. I believe Isiah owns the CBA still, so he should know best which players have the potential to make the jump to the NBA. Those are some solid numbers for a 19 year old to be averaging in the CBA, so maybe he can help out in the center for the Knicks and earn a contract from the team.

I'm laughing out loud at your comment, JWohl.

I think he can turn into a valuable project...we all know Isiah is a good judge of talent, so maybe he found something special in this guy. Time will tell.

    Thanks for the info Platehpus!

That's pretty solid. Can someone elaborate on the competition level on the CBA because those numbers still aren't impressing me. How is it? Anyway, we have nothing to lose signing him. Isiah is a good spotter for talent. I can't see this guy being as bad as Nazr was last year. Maybe Aguirre can do some work to him and we can have a great center for the future. Anyway, I guess it's a solid pickup.

To be honest with you, the CBA is probably the AAA of the basketball world. There have been some good talents that have come out of the CBA, can't name any off the top of my head but I know that they have gone on to have successful careers. This is a kid who made himself elligable for the draft after his senior year so either he's 1) really good but not worth taking the risk on, 2) had a bad senior campaign, 3) too dumb to make it to a decent college.

No matter what, it's still a guy who can take a seat next to Bruno in case we need him.

He was also on the Timberwolves roster for the summer league. He played well and I thought the Wolves might sign him but didn't. Averaging those kinds of numbers in the CBA at 19 is good in my opinion and has potential. It's a decent pickup for the Knicks.

Yeah, good call Platehpus! We can use him just in case worse comes to worst. Besides, I think he might be a little bit better than Bruno.

Btw, congrats during the all-star break, Bruno went to Croatia and got married!

Is Tennessee a good school? The NY Post says that he "was set to attend Tennessee when his agent convinced him to enter the draft".

I don't know about the descision Isiah made here about signing him for the rest of the season. This guy hasn't played real basketball yet, so I think signing him to a 10 day contract to evalute Jackie is the only choice they should make now.

Why would it matter? We're not giving him any bug bucks, we're giving him a regular contract. We have nothing to lose in this scenario.
