First, I have say that I attended this game in person [IMG].

Now to the good stuff: The Nets had a phenomenal first half, where they lead by more than 20 points at one point. Vaugn had a number of great hussle plays that caught my attention.
The third quarter was once again problomatic for the Nets, who saw the game become tied at one point. However they were able to close that quarter out on an 8 point lead. In the fourth quarter both teams traded a bunch of free throws until threes by Kidd, Carter and Best closed the game out.

The Nets were dominating the Cavs when they would attack the basket and go inside, and when they began to be jump-shot happy, thier lead started to dwindle.

Another bad note is that the Nets were vicously out-rebounded 49-32, however, I can't really complain because they won [IMG] .

What happened to Vince? He's averaging 30 points and going to the line almost 9 times a game this month, he's a man on a mission I guess. Good win for you guys though it doesn't help us much, but it's not like I'm hoping we make the playoffs anyways.

Jason Kidd did an excellent job staying with Lebron James. And making things difficult for him. Honesntly, I didnt think Kidd would handle the job of guarding 2's & 3's as well as he has done since going to the exclusive small backcoiurt of him & Vaughn when Rodney went down. Dont get me wrong Lebron got his but Kidd made him work for it. And in order for Lebron to get his average he had to take a high volume of shots which took away from his playmaking for other Cavs. And imo that is the one aspect of Lebrons game you want to take away his playmaking ablity.

I think our frontline did a good job as well. They had their usual foul trouble. But Krstic &Collins didnt get dominated by Z & Gooden. And Gooden had that frustrated look on his face alot, caught a couple techs. And had some foul trouble. I think our bigs showed up huge for us against Cleveland cause on paper the frontline is the biggest difference between a team like us vs. them.

Anyway big win, that is two in a row, hopefully we can carry these two games into a 5 or 6 game winning streak and make up some real ground on Boston.

boston plays the suns today, so that may help us move up in the standings, closer to the first spot. these third quarter slumps are hurting the team, they need to find a way to stay hot/warm during half time.

I think y'all missed Kristic a lot when he was out for a little while, he's not dominating offensive player, but he's the teams only real offensive post option, and the difference when he's playing and not playing is evident.

Yeah most definately, when Krstic is out or in serious foul trouble we have no options of guys who can score with their back to the basket(other then putting Kidd in the post against smaller guards from time to time, which cant happen right now cause he is really playing the 2). Jabari Smith stands in the 15 foot range takening 15 foot spot up fadaways(with nobody on him lol) everytime he gets the ball. Collins takes 12 to 18 footers all night. And Cliff doesnt leave the 3 point line even when he is struggling. So alot of our points in the paint depends on the pressence of Nenad. and until Rodney Buford comes back full strenght into the rotation, he is also our best option as a 3rd scorer.

I dont think that Cliff is that 3-happy, yes he spends half his time beyond the arc, but I saw him take the ball stong inside a couple of times last game. He went to the free throwline twice I think and made two shots in the paint.

IT was a figure of speech cause Cliff takes way more threes then two's even ehen he is struggling.

    Yeh thats true [IMG]

I noticed however that his roaming often brings a big man out of the paint (like Ilgauskas), opening things up, so I guess it is not a bad thing that he can shoot the three.
