<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The talk at Mike James' locker seemed unlikely. The Rockets had just lost their third consecutive game after being defeated by the Jazz, a team 19 games below .500. Yet there James sat, talking about how much the Rockets reminded him of the NBA champion Detroit Pistons. Last season, James was part of a last-minute trade that landed him ? along with Rasheed Wallace ? in Detroit. The Pistons lost three games after the trade and then regrouped to win the NBA championship. James, who made his Rockets debut in Sunday's 99-92 loss, said he could see the same turnaround happening in Houston. "I see a lot of (similarity) in this team as I did in Detroit," said James, who finished with 19 points, three assists, three steals and four turnovers. "Everybody counted us out last year, and I remember after the trade we lost three straight before everyone got a feel for one another. I see that same talent, and I see that same drive here. It's just a matter of us believing it and getting it all together."</div> Full Story
Nice read. Mike James will definitely be crucial to any playoff run that we want to make. He signifies that Houston has successfully solidified the point guard spot and will be a very deep team come playoff time. Once the team chemistry all works out and Sura comes back from his injury, Houston can become very strong team. Players just need to sort of redefine their roles a bit and know what their job on defense and offense are.
Just re-affirms my belief that James will have a big impact on this team, and not just on the floor. He has a proffessional attitude that carries over into the locker room. I wouldn't sleep on Houston in the playoffs.
this is good, now im ready to see the rockets in action once again hopefully they can make it to the second round if not maybe all the way next year
As a Rockets fan, that is so inspiring. The fact that we have RIGHT NOW, the makings of a championship team. I've always seen this season as a stepping stone for the future and a title 2 to 4 years down the track. Maybe there really is a chance for us to win the title this year.
I wouldn't get too excited over this. It was Mike's first post game interview since coming to the team, and they had an off game, so what else was he supposed to talk about? He was just trying to come off as positively as possible and give off the vibe that he's really excited to be in Houston and that he sees a lot of potential in the team. Just because a guy that came off the bench for last year's NBA champs says that the Rockets remind him of his old team, doesn't really mean that much. Not to me anyway. Just making a good first impression by making the best of a bad situation. Don't get me wrong though, I like Mike and I am glad he feels that way. I just don't think it really means anything...yet.
well it might not mean much to us but probably means more to the players, good job on the part of mike james to say that about the team i hope the teamates are inspired about what he says and tries their hardest for the rest of the season, and the game against the bulls was the starting point
