With a season filled with injuries, the Clippers still managed to have a good team. So many games have gone down to the wire to only end in heartbreak. If they would have won half of those games, they would be in good shape right now. The Clippers have shown they have promise. On the longshot that Satan (Donald Sterling) would actually open that check book of his... You think the Clippers could draw a quality free agent for next year? Yes, I know they were trying to get Kobe and all...but Satan has shown that he does not want to spend money, and many players feel going to the Clippers is certain death. I just feel they are 1 free agent and a healthy season away from a good season. I think they are just 1 healthy season away from playoffs. What do you think?
The decision making at the end of the games is terrible. Maggette is the main go to scorer down the stretch, but he has very bad court awareness, Maggette is a guy that really can only score down the stretch, he won't find the open man. He's a bad decison make in closing minutes his shot is mediocre, but it's not good enough for him to be a consistent clutch shooter, and many teams know he wants to drive and likely get to the line. The PG play down the stretch has also been bad, with all the injuries, early year inexperience of Livingston etc, their have been too many mistakes made by the PG's in the closing minutes of games. I like Maggette, but in the off-season I'd really be looking to do a sign and trade for a Michael Redd, Ray Allen, or Joe Johnson, if it's possible. This team needs the outside shooting, and also better clutch play and decision making down the stretch. Playoffs are definately a possiblity next season, but some moves need to be made. Jaric needs to go, I like him, but he's too injury prone and un-reliable, Earl Watson would be a great pickup, so would Brevin Knight, Damon Stoudemire, Steve Blake, and Dan Dickau. Shooters also need to be added. Posiblities are: Matt Bonner [will likely stay in Toronto], Vladimir Radmonovic | Donyell Marshall | Kareem Rush [not too keen on him] | Casey Jacobsen [not too keen on him either] | Raja Bell [not really a "shooter", but a good player] | and Richie Frahm. If moves like that are made, and also entertaining sign and trades with Maggette for one of the better outside shooting SG's, re-signing Simmons of course. Re-signing either Moore or Rebracca, and also using Wilcox in a sign and trade for a PG or one of the shooters.
