<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Yao Ming talks trash? That's what Tyson Chandler revealed Monday. "Last time, he told me he was going to make me swallow my mouthpiece," Chandler said. "He can speak English better than he lets on." Maybe it's just familiarity. Chandler has known Yao for eight years, having played against him when Yao traveled to California for a youth All-Star game.</div> - Chicago Tribune It's good to see that Yao has some form of an attitude out on the court. He just needs to express it more with his play.
Haha. Yao is humorous, and he shows it once again, even in trash talking. I'll make you swallow your mouthpiece. Haha. It's good to know that Yao is feeling more relaxed on the court now.
LOL. Yao is a great player with a great attitude as well. He's so funny but at least he tries to make an attempt to put some kind of prescence on the court. Funny guy Yao, funny guy.
It's great to see Yao talking some trash now. It shows that he's more confident in his team and in himself. I don't know why but I can't imagine Yao trash talking anyone. Iv'e heard Yao on ESPN and ABC and I didn't think his English was that great.
Who would of thunk it? I think Yao also got into it in the Olympics with Ben Wallace in his rookie year. Ben Wallace threw an elbow into Yao's back going for a rebound, and Yao took exception to it. As they ran down the other end Yao shoved Ben Wallace right back. If he's fearless enough to go after Big Ben I don't think Yao is scared at all on the court. He's slowly coming around by showing more aggression in his game and demanding the ball more. Kinda of reminds me of when Grant Hill played for the Pistons. Remember that Fila commecial with Laimbeer trying to toughen Hill up and represent the Bad Boy image?
He's gonna make him swallow his mouthpiece? LOL, he needs to work on his trash talking, if he's gonna use it.
LOL I just saw this posted on another NBA board and it's crazy. Apparently Yao got dunked on by some Australian guy, and then the guy's teammate got all up in Yao's face. Yao wasn't a big fan of this guy's taunting, and decided to remind the guy who was 7'6" 320lb lol. Just look...
^^I remember that game well. Yao was extremely emotional in that game, and Sean Marks was doing all he could to frustate Yao. He was doing a good job of it, then he dunked on Yao as you can see above. As if that wasn't enough, Dillon Boucher really let Yao know about it, and deserved to get knocked down. There was no call at all . Oh and it's New Zealand . As long as Yao doesn't get too carried away with the trash talking, it shouldn't hurt his game. It shows he is more confident in his game, which should help him.
New Zealand huh? I was just trying to go by the flags next to the scores. Looked Australian. Thanks for the correction though, I would hate to make fun of a guy from the wrong country lol.
Haha yeah its good to see a New Zealander clear things up. I'm an AUssie by the way, so I would've said something anyway. Difference between the Aus and NZ flag is that the Aus stars are white and the NZ stars are read. Also, the NZ flag has one less star. Back on topic: Yao Ming ought to get a nickname like "Ming Nasty" hahahha. Its great to see him develop and fit into the NBA.
i can never imagine yao talking trash hes just too respectful and i wouldnt think of him to say things like ' ima make you swallow your mouthpeice ' i just cant picture it
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting jean:</div><div class="quote_post">swallow my mouthpiece? I don't know what does it mean. Who can explain it for me? Thanks a lot!</div> A mouthpiece is a sort of toothcover that some NBA players put on to prevent their teeth from being knocked out by accident by a flying ball or something or an elbow. If it's not for that purpose, then it probably serves some sort of similar function. By the way, welcome to JBB!!! As for that video, it was posted in this forum a while ago, during the Olympics I guess. It was really funny.
By the way, Yao scored 40 against the Kiwis in that game. "Get Out Of My Face!!" He might have mean words....... Still not full street yet....
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting jean:</div><div class="quote_post">swallow my mouthpiece? I don't know what does it mean. Who can explain it for me? Thanks a lot!</div> Like Trip said... to protect teeth... like what all boxers/football players/etc wear during games. Funny how Yao got his first technical of the season a few days ago for 'touching' a ref... I think Yao likes to 'demonstrate' to refs after he gets a bad call... I remember in a game a few weeks back, after a foul was called on him, he went over to the ref, saying something to him and although there was no malice, he nearly yanked the ref's arm off hehe... doesn't know his own strength
