Well many of us Knick fans have been pleasnatly surprised by Tim Thomas' recently. Still isn't Van Horn, but he's been playing pretty decent basketball as of late. With his shameful play in the begining of the season, hopefully he decides to play decent basketball and earn at least half of his salaray. Here is what he'd done... Last 5 Games: MPG: 32.4 PPG: 19.8 RPG: 3.4 APG: 1.8 FG%: 63.3 3FG%: 61.1 In February (11 Games): MPG:29.1 PPG:14.6 RPG: 3.4 APG:2.1 FG%:55.6 3FG%:55.0 Hopefully, this gives Tim Thomas the confidence he needs to get his act together. The Knicks need him to play decent ball at the very least. I hope he has a great rest of the season that way he can increase his trade value. If he really starts playing well, than maybe resign him for (a reasonable amount!!) And see what he does. Anyway, those are good stats up there...well, at least for him!

Unless he starts to rebound i see no reason to resign him.... we have undersized PFs, no real center we cant afford (well actually do to our cap situation we cant afford much ) to have a SF only get us 3.4 rpg.
Nice post, up untill this... <div class="quote_poster">Quoting mrj18:</div><div class="quote_post">If he really starts playing well, than maybe resign him for (a reasonable amount!!)</div> Yeah, he's playing well, and maybe he really is turning around his game...but there's absolutely no debate as to whether or not we should resign him. He's constantly let us down, and even though he's having a great second half he's still not rebounding or defending that well. Resigning him for a reasonable amount is out of the question because 1) there's no such thing as a reasonable amount if you're Isiah Thomas and 2) we already have Ariza. Great to see him finally playing up to his potential, it really is upsetting and frustrating that it took him so long to do so.
Yeah I know, Gary Coleman can crash the baords better than him, but his scoring and effectiveness is what has really been getting my attention. TT is a horrible rebounder, but I think that is partly due to Kurt and Sweetney. Anyway, at least it is an improvement from the last months!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting mrj18:</div><div class="quote_post">I meant a reasonable amount (like a 100 million 7 years). I think that's fair.</div> That is the Contract a guy like Kidd got! Certainly TT is not a player of that caliber. Just because he played well in a short span of time does not warrent a 100 mil 7 contract. If the Knicks wish to resign him, they should begin with 7 years 30 mil, and only offer more if another team threatens with a higher salary. Personally I think that TT does not even deserve more than 100 thousand a year (as well as many other players), but the reasonable price for him is 30-50 million for 6-7 years.
Yeah I was. LOL But seriously, by reasonable contract I mean lets say he averages 15/3/2 we can give him a contract that reflect those numbers and he can be a good back up for Trevor Ariza. He was 1st runner up for 6th man of the year. But I really want him to play well so he can increase his value so some sucker can take him plus he has a good expiring contract. So we are bound to get a good player. I mean look at what the Warriors did. They got Baron Davis for Dale Davis! Imagine what him and Penny can do!
I see no reason why not to sign him to a Kobe-like contract. 7 Years 130+ Million is a bargain for a player like Tim Thomas.
Tim Thomas, in my opinion, was a good player in Milwaukie. I liked him, believe it or not. But with the Knicks, he just CANNOT get the job done. I am sorry, but when you are 6'10", you should not be almost the worst rebounder in the league besides Earl Boykins. In fact, Earl could be better than TT. However, if TT had the brains to unleash, as I call it, his almost unlimited potential, then he could be a top 20 player. But since that isn't going to happen, at least not any time soon, we will just have to accept a 11 ppg 3 rpg player. *sigh*
I agree, but I think he has been improving and this just came from the post today: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Tim Thomas represented all that was wrong with the Knicks. Obscenely overpaid. Underachieving. Defensively deficient. The biggest enigma of an enigmatic franchise. There is a renaissance happening now with the Knicks and it is starting with Thomas, the victim of boos and vicious critiques during a season that, six days ago, was positively headed toward the draft lottery. "I felt I broke a glass or something," Thomas said. </div> New York Post Btw, Welcome to the Knicks forum! I hope you enjoy it here and it's good to see another Knicks fan. Hopefully you enjoy it here and I look forward to seeing some more of your posts!

Tim had another good game with 25 points and guess what *drum roll* *drum roll* *drum roll* <u>He had 8 rebounds yesterday!!!</u>
? <div class="quote_poster">Quoting mrj18:</div><div class="quote_post">Tim had another good game with 25 points and guess what *drum roll* *drum roll* *drum roll* <u>He had 8 rebounds yesterday!!!</u></div> is that a season high? ...no seriously is it? .... if so that pathetic....Marbury has 2 more rebounds on the season than tim....Jerome William in almost half the minutes has more rpg...
Not quite JWhol, he had 1 more rebound in Dallas on November 19th. Hey, at least he's stepping up a little bit
wow <div class="quote_poster">Quoting mrj18:</div><div class="quote_post">Not quite JWhol, he had 1 more rebound in Dallas on November 19th. Oh my bad, I usually get it right, I just slipped the O and the W up. I was writing too fast I guess.
