I kinda like Toronto's - the other ones I never really understood, but I guess it's a local thing. But I also really like the San Antonio Spurs and Chicago Bulls.
"Raptors" doesn't really represent Toronto but from a sports perspective (trying to make your team seem tough), it's a fitting name. Some teams that I think have great names: Chicago Bulls Seattle Supersonics Phoenix Suns Memphis Grizzlies (made more sense when they were in Vancouver)
i like the raptors, timberwolves and portland jail blazers. i think the nets should change their name, it kinda sux and knicks r gettin old too
i dunno I dunno who has the best... i like the spurs, knicks (bias), bobcats, celtics,.... The worst is nets. Its like calling a baseball team the bases or the bats.... lakers and jazz dont make sense since they relocated
I like the Boston Celtics the best. It represents part of the New England heritage. I also like the Miami Heat, it makes sense because it's always so hot in Miami. I liked the New Orleans Jazz before they relocated. That made the best sense because Jazz music originated in the Big Easy.
I thought they found traces of Raptor fossils in Toronto? Can anyone living in Canada shed some light here? Me personally, I've always like the Celtics, they have their own style. The Sixers, too. The Rockets team name matches with the city well, We have the Astros, Comets, and Aeroes (sp?).

I like the Cleaveland Cavaliers. I dunno why. It has a great ring to it. It's the only team that would sound stupid if it were any different. The Cinncinatti Cavaliers or the cleaveland Ballers sound retarded. See I like the sixers, but if the city changed it to the Franklins (That's my team name for created teams) I'd love it. But the Cavs is perfect. Sixers have the better abbv.

The reason the team names is the Lakers is because back in the 40's and 50's the team was in Minneapolis and is surrounded by lakes. Therfore the team name is the Lakers!
