Im just curious to know, if it is possible for the Lakers to pick up..

Gary Payton (Waived today by the Atlanta Hawks)
    &
Elden Campbell (Waived today by the New Jersey Nets)

Not sure why they were released or what, but if it was possible for them to be claimed off waivers by LA would it work?

If so i say waive Tierre Brown and Tony Bobbitt

It is possible for the Lakers to sign eithe of those players. The Lakers still have that 1.5M exception they held onto for Karl Malone. The problem is, I don't think either player would be willing to comeback to the Lakers. Campbell wants to return to the Pistons, and Payton will either join the Celtics or Heat.

That sucks... I think they both would fit nicely for what we need. They are both former lakers also. Im sure this has been ponderd before though.

I was hoping the Lakers could coax Morning to join the team by offering the chance to be the starting C or PF. The Lakers need a shotblocker and warrior inside and Morning would take care of both those needs. This would allow Odom to possibly move to the 3-spot and give the Lakers a lot of size on the court with Mihm-Zo-Odom as the frontline.

But as usualy, Kupchak can't seem to get anything done, except come up with more excuses.

Payton is supposed to be going back to the Celtics. There is talk in the Celtics forum that he will be able to play tomorrow against the Lakers or Friday against the Bobcats.

I'd like to add Dale Davis to the list of free agents I want the Lakers to go after. He's a good defender with size, and we're lacking that tremendously right now. He is probably the best avalible option right now, and I REALLY want the Lakers to make a push for him.. I hate counting on Kupchak but hopefully he's been making attempts to sign him, because I really think he would be a nice fit.

Considering the terms on which he left, GP would probably retire before ever signing back with the Lakers...

Elden was dumped by the Lakers before as well. Not sure he would want back. But can u imagine Vlade and Elden on the team again? ugh..

Dale Davis = Brian Grant IMO

You think the lakers have a chance to land Ron Artest next season? Maybe deal caron and company for him? I just dont see him returning to Indy.

New Orleans Hornets Waived forwards Glenn Robinson and Dale Davis Tuesday. I guess NO is making room for a FA rush soon. Lakers need to find a way to do the same by dumping Brian Grant Grant's contract, idunno why they didnt get a bunch of guys for shaq instead of 2 guys and a huge contract.

I don't want Ron Artest. I'd ray rather Caron Butler.
