Here's a letter I got in my E-Mail from Celtics Beat.

Dear Celtics Fans --
Hey there Boston... I just wanted to take a minute to tell you how good it is to be back in the green and white! Since the time I was traded 16 months ago, I hoped that one day I would be in a position to come back to the Celtics and play for this organization again, because this is where I really feel at home. I cannot tell you how happy I was when I got the call from Danny... don't get me wrong, being traded is a difficult thing. But this is like a storybook situation for me and my family. For us, Boston is home - this is where my roots are. This is where I want to be, and you are who I want to be playing in front of each and every night.

This team is very, very different from when I left. The young guys Danny has brought in are great - it is a lot of fun to watch Big Al, Marcus, Tony, Delonte and Perk. Even in the few practices, they amaze me. I am sure you all saw how Marcus got up to block that shot from Stephen Hunter the other night - I mean, that was incredible. And then Delonte scrambling on the floor to grab that loose ball and having the presence of mind to call a time out - that was a veteran play, a smart basketball play. The future of this team is bright, and I am proud to be a part of it. Right now all I can do is come in to work every day and get to know this new system and see what I can do to help take the team to the next level.

Paul and I are excited to be playing together again, and I think that we can help teach these young guys how to win in the NBA. Paul and I have always played well together, and I think we can help bring these other guys along, because there is definitely a lot of talent on this team to work with. And with Doc at the helm, the possibilities are there for us to do great things in the Atlantic division and beyond. So I am excited about the next two months and making a big push towards the playoffs. I love playing in the postseason, and I fully expect you all to be at the Fleet to cheer us on every step of the way.

So thanks for welcoming me back, and I can't wait to see you all real soon at the arena. It's great to be a Celtic again.

Take care,

'Toine

I couldn't find the letter on the Celtic's homepage so I couldn't post the source.

I think it's great that Antoine wanted to come back to Boston since he was traded. he has a huge impact on the team, so once again welcome back Antoine. [IMG]

The one thing I've always thought about Toine (and Simmons made a point about it on his latest column) is that he truly knew what it meant to be a Celtic. For some of these guys "Celtic Pride" is an ancient notion, but you really got a feeling that Walker understood the tradition of the team. In that respect, I've very glad he's back to teach the young guns.

walker is the man celtics fans. im a Heat fan but still i love watching the celtics. especially antoine walker he's amazing man. and i think rickey david is amazing too, and if i was the celtic coach i'll put the ball in his hands at crunch time, because i dont trust paul. he seems to loose his dribble and make bad passes at crunch time and take bad shots the fadeaway jumper. No disrespect celtics fans, but i think Ricky david is a hell of a player than paul pierce. walker is also better than paul.

I know what you mean. Back in the Russell and Cousy era Celtic Pride meant so much. Then when Larry Bird and Kevin McHale came around they really bled Green and knew the true meaning of "Celtic Pride". When I hear those two words I always think of Larry Bird.

Antoine seems to follow in their footsteps and really does like you siad understand the traditions and Pride of the franchise.
