i think we are since LA is losing too and they have dallas on friday whos right now losing to the other LA team and would want a win and bad. denver bothers me they topped us,they took our second place in the division...and they are hot...our chance to get there is only if the lakers keep losing i think... now if it's better to go in anyway i dont know...i think we should so this season wont be a total bust...it doesn't seem that way since we were dissapointed so so so many times but they might make a show in the offseason and get together tight...
Its still available but the Wolves keep letting opportunites slip way. Tonight the Lakers drop another one against Boston. But the Wolves cant beat Golden State with Baron Davis playing horrible. Fisher killed Hudson..... Anyway Denver scares me more then the Lakers in that race for 8th, because Coach Karl has put some focus into a very young talented team. And a team that going down the stretch maybe healthier then the Wolves. Iam just hoping that their inexpereince shows up a bit like it did for them during the late part of the 2nd half of last years regular season. But if not then the Wolves might see the Lakers falling but Denver moving into that 8th spot not them.
I haven't even thought about playoffs in a very long time. Ever since Flip was fired, I really haven't thought about playoffs. My main concern is consistency in winning and that has not happened since December. When you don't win consistently, you ain't making the playoffs and that's why the Timberwolves are in the predicament that they are in. It's really remarkable that the Timberwolves are just 1 game out for the last playoff spot in the Western Conference. It really is. They should be 4 or 5 games out. Fortunately for the Timberwolves, Lakers seem interested in getting this season over with as they are playing out the string. The Timberwolves are shooting themselves in the foot with their consistent losing like tonight. Sooner or later, it will catch up to them. The losses in December and January cost the Wolves a top spot and the losses last month not only cost the team their coach, but the Northwest division. If they lose often in March, say good-bye playoffs for good. As Henacy said, the Nuggets are hitting their stride at the right time and George Karl is not going to let them lose focus of it. I give the Timberwolves 10 games from the post All-Star break to convince me that they are a playoff team. They are 1-3 in the post All-Star break. That's not very good and you have to figure that there are more losses where they come from. Do I think they are a playoff team? Definitely not and you can just tell from watching the games that this team is not good.
i can hope denver and LA to lose theyre next games....denver has indiana wich wants to pick it up right now and they are slowly but surely....oneal and others could win it for the pacers...dallas comes of an ugly fall to the clippers...falling to LA one after another?! naaa dallas gonna win it against the lakers... but what can i say! weve got the bucks...they can beat any team in a game...and the wolves wont be their hardest for sour...
Why do you want this team to make the playoffs? #1. It's not like they want to, or maybe they wouild be winning some games. #2. It would be terrible. Some of you need to understand this team better. They <u>suck</u> and <u>do not try.</u> They would get picked apart by the Spurs or Suns and be eliminated in 4 games. Is that what you want? I'd rather this season be over with and let KG stop struggling with tendonitis every game for no reason. Denver will makes the 8th seed. They went there before last year, and they are on a run right now. Denver has a team of young talented plaers, not to mention ploayers that could really explode in the playoffs. Denver deserves and will get the 8th spot.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting KG-MVP:</div><div class="quote_post">Why do you want this team to make the playoffs? #1. They do want to win, it doesn't always go that way. But it is their fault for losing. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">#2. It would be terrible. If they do, they have the same chance of winning the championship as everybody. But if they play like they are right now, they won't have any chance of making the playoffs. They have to start winning games that they should be winning, like against the Warriors last night. Denver is already tied with us and has a better chance of getting the 8th seed than us right now.
Right now my ultimate goal would be the second round. The only thing that would make me feel that this wasn't a totally wasted season. Anything less would make me feel like it was. First round loss: Just adds to the legacy of failure and potentially keeps a team worth watching out. Don't make the playoffs: To go from championship caliber with one other team (Spurs) to challenge for the West to not even making the playoffs is horrible, but not as bad as we feel now looking at our team. Right now, embarrassment is closer to my acessment. Second round or the names I'd keep for the 2005/06 season: Garnett Madsen Hassell Hoiberg Carter (I like him) Cassell (He's older and has had some health problems, but has shown he's a big game player) Everyone else can be had
Well I think it is a major faslse that the Wolves dont want to win. They came out at the start of the season with a complacency and their effort was terrible. And yes they let off the court problems interupt team chemistry. But it wasnt that they didnt want to win or be competive this year. They came in with the wrong midset "that they were a veteran team, who knew how to pick it up as the season went along", so while they were struggling early they just threw it to the side as trival. And figured there play would automatically pick up. But once the time came to step their games into over drive they cant cause you got a nagging injury to KG, you had Madsen the teams energy guy out for a number of months. And you got Sammy who is in & out of the lineup. And they dont really know how much he can give on a nightly basis. Detriot Pistons came in with a similar mindset but the difference in their turnaround has to do with the fact they play in the East and are healthy. And the Wolves play in the West & are extremely unhealthy as of late. The lack of focus often happens with a veteran team like the Wolves threw the first couple month of the season. But unfortanetly due to certain circumstances this team just doesnt seem to have enuff in the gas to make that late season veteran team push as of right now. Maybe that will change but with little Cassell, Mad dog not close to being able to give the Wolves the minutes & energy they need from him, it might be getting to late late.
We don't have an easy schedule ourselves coming up. We have the Bucks, who beat us already, the Celtics, who beat us, Bobcats, who blew us out, the Magic who beat us, the Heat, and the Mavs twice in a row. Obviously, we better win some of those or else we're screwed. We better not take any of those games lightly, seeing as how the games we have played against those teams, we've lost. Playoffs are still an option I think but the attitude to want to get their isn't with the team. Sam and Spree and the rest of the team's moral is at a low, losing to teams that we should be beating. We lack to much size, which will hurt us big time against teams with a good center downlow, with Griffin and Kandi both injured. We've proven last year we can make it far, but I guess since they proved themselves last year, that the players feel that they don't have to do much this season. Well, expectations were very high for them this season, so making the playoffs is a must, or else, we will be an ebmarrasment. Going from the Western Conference finals, to preseason NBA champs by some, to not making the playoffs? How bad will that make us look. It's possible to make it, if we play like we want it.
Our schedule is always gonna be tough. On any given night we can lose to the Warriors at home or we can beat Cleveland. It all depends on who shows up, and who wants to win. Also KG is hurting real bad so every game will be a fight until we get some new attitude into this team (Spree Cassell)
