Since Jameer Nelson has been starting he is averaging aroun 14-15 ppg, 5-7 apg and 4-6 rpg. Have the magic finally found a PG that they can count on for the upcoming years? Although the magic did lose the 2 games to the Heat they proved to show what Jameer Nelson really has in him when he gets enough playing time.
Last night against the Kings he had 19 pts and 6 asts

Yeah I think he has pretty much cemented his spot in the starting PG role as long as he's still here and not injured. He's one of the funnest players on the team to watch, he is very composed for a rookie. Him and Dwight are going to be a great duo in the future.

I think Nelson will likely be the starting PG for the rest of the season for a while to come. He's shown flashes of just how good he can be. And by him running the point, it allows Francis to play the SG, which is a much more natural position for him since he's a natural scorer.

One of my threads a while back pretty much predicted exactly how Jameer could play with decent minutes (30+) just on the basis of his games with over 10mins.

Its true that hes not a fun/showboat PG, but thats exactly what we have at SG now, Stevie makes up for what Jameer doesnt do in flash.

To me Jameer seems alot older in playing experience than he actually is. I know he had 4 (?) years of college ball which seems to be above average these days, but still to come in, and not initally be a starting PG he now shows that its more than likely he could have been doing this job all season long.

He's going to get better, his shooting has already picked up this season as he started to find some sort of 3pt range occasionally, and he has a nice touch under the basket. The fact that he grabs some boards aswell makes him a great allround player, espcially since people doubt him cos of his size.

Shame he didnt start from the very beginning, he could well have been another rookie going for Rook of the year, much like Gordon and Deng surged 20 games into the season.

Jameer is definitely going to be at least a good point guard in this league..... If he gets the minutes he'll produce. I think he and Steve will make a really feared backcourt with Dwight up front it'll be scary in a few years.
