I am looking at the box score and some things jump out at me...

    1. Pietrus only got 8 minutes while Carbabavakaa got 14.
    2. Chaney played more minutes than Rodney White. I expect white to get about 15 mins at a minimum.
    3. Chaney plays while Biedrens sits out the whole game, same with Skita.

We need to develop our young guys this season and evaluate players for next season like White, Skita, Carvabakaka. White was a solid contributor to a play off team, how come he cant get off the bench for one of the worst teams in the NBA?

Foyle played 36 minutes at center. Murphy only played 29 minutes, who else was playing center? Why cant Biedrens get off the bench on a team that only has 1 center?

It was a wierd situation, Cheaney played out of necessity. JR hurt his ankle in the 2nd quarter so Pietrus came in for him, and apparently he suffered a shoulder contusion (bad news). JR came back in the third quarter but reinjured himself, so Cheaney finished out the third, and played a little of the 4th, before JR made a heroic comeback. It was pretty funny actually, Cheaney was posting people up when he was in, and doing pretty well down there.

As for Beans, everyone in the frontcourt was just ON. Between Dunleavy, Murphy, Foyle, and Zarko, it was tough to take any of them off the floor (Murph didn't shoot well though). Although we can't run a rotation like that all road trip, so Beans will see some time in the near future.

Rodney White looked lost, but I'll give him slack since he's new.

Right now we need to go small. Baron should go PG, Fish at the SG, J-Rich at small forward, Dunleavy at the PF, and Murphy at C for the rest of the year. Then in the offseason we should move Fisher and Foyle and draft Marvin Williams. That we we can have

    PG: Baron Davis/ 2nd rounder
    SG: J-Rich/ Pietrus
    SF: Williams/ White/ Zarko
    PF: Dunleavy/ Zarko/ Tskitishvili
    C: Murphy/ Biedrins/ Tskitishvili

Montgomery was on the radio this morning and specifically said the W's want to win games but also must play the various guys, and he mentioned Andy, who we need to see in action before we know what moves to make post-season. I'd hope that getting a good look at the under-exposed guys is a priority. A player, and especially undeveloped big men, need a stretch where they get 10-15 min in one chunk,or they just rust away. A token 2 min of garbage ball does little to get a guy in the flow, used to NBA realities, and tuned into the chemistry
As to J Rich's post, the contracts of Fisher and Foyle will likely make dealing them difficult, and until someone else arrives who shows he will block shots, rebound, make an impact on D,I'd hang onto Foyle. Marvin W impresses me with his perimeter J and his transition speed but what I saw was a guy who was apathetic when it came to D and lazy as a rebounder. Boards and D are not as much about natural gifts as desire. When Marvin shows me desire then I'm good with him as a top 5 pick. A guy who is content to fire 3's and slack on the physical stuff, and doesn't fight for rebounds is going to have us all pissed off pretty quick. Crissakes,Murphy has a few games that are not 20pt 15rbd and people want to unload him, like his skills are easy to replace. Marvin Williams SHOULD someday decide to play with the fulltime effort of his teammate Sean May,and then he is a legit star. In this cap era,big time scorers get expensive, while you can get wins by mixing in a few hard workers who battle for boards and play hardcore D-and often those guys are underrated and low priced. When it comes to a late #1 or a rd 2 guy,I'm okay with someone who is not yet a total player or needs to adjust his work ethic. When its a top 5,or even a top 10 I want to feel like I know what I'm paying for.
