<div class="quote_poster">Quoting authentiq:</div><div class="quote_post">those are physical attributes.</div> Physical attributes are things that make up your body (height, weight, muscle mass, fat, etc.). Athleticism and quickness are talents that, while helped by the right physical attributes, still take hard work and discipline to develop and improve on. Iverson's quickness wouldn't mean much if he was a klutz or scatter-brained all the time and LeBron's athleticism also includes hand-eye coordination, good judgement, timing and so on.
I could get crucified for this but I hate (or should i say dislike) SHAQ!!!! It has nothing to do with me being a Rockets fan (Yao, etc.) I've always disliked him because he doesn't really have much skill. I know that he has great god given talents that he uses well, but he can't do anything that doesn't require his size and strength. Think about it, he's a dominant rebounder, blocker and inside scorer: all the things that are a hell of a lot easier if you are big. He can't jump shoot, free throw, dribble, or pass because he hasn't got ball skills. Now off the court, I think he's a real funny guy, but the comments he comes up with are stupid. Though funny, they are not thought out very well and he often comes up with comments which if you analyse carefully, he is actually a hypocryte. But putting that aside he's entertaining I admit.

He has very, very good footwork, which is key to being a good inside player. He's also a very good passer. He finds the cutters when he's being doubled team, and he's smart, using fake passes to get to the basket and such. If he made this far because of his size, then why has DeSagana Diop been sitting on the bench in Cleveland for the past 3 years? Or how come Brendan Haywood and Dan Gadzuric aren't close to being as good as Shaq from his Orlando years, when they had comparable body frames and sizes?
It seems most basketball fans that I know hate Kobe, Melo, Stephon, and Ron. I am not just talking about in this board, but in other basketball boards where I interact with other fans. Those four have brought it upon themselves. Most basketball fans have had a problem with Kobe for years with his arrogance and the way he rode Phil and Shaq out of town. It's a shame how things have went sour for Melo. After a great year in college, most fans seem to have gotten turned off with Melo's attitude since his rookie year. Stephon has been known as a problem child since his days in Minnesota hence why most fans have a problem with him. Ron's off-the court problems has turned fans off. Personally, I don't have a problem with Ron and I think he is trying his best to be a better person. It's a progress for Ron and he can continue to improve. There are still time for those guys to get better as players and most importantly as human beings, but it's up to them to change their image for the fans to get their respect.
I really like Ron Artest. He's not a bad person and he's a hard worker on court. He also isn't full of himself unlike the other usual suspects. It is true that Artests off-court action give him alot of critcisms, but I really don't think he deserves any of it. Take for instance the Pacers/Detroit incident. In fact, I remember a one detroit fan in this thread mentioning how he hates the entire pacers... ... Well to answer the thread's question again, I really HATE Detriot fans. God bless the team, they are a great basketball team, but the fans are brutish thugs. I aknowledge that my sweeping generalisation doesn't apply to all Detriot fans, but COME ON!!!! Do oyu honestly blame Artest for what happened in that incident? What self respecting fan decides to throw trash on the court. It is plain disrespectful. The incident started with a hard foul, BUT THAT IS ALL IT WAS!!!! A hard foul with no malicious intent.

Players I love to hate: Reggie Miller: Always annoys me by making that last basket. To me, he isn't Reggie Miller, he is the evil SKELETOR!!! (looks like a skeleton) Kobe: Great Player, too arrogant. I love seeing him score 50 points, then lose Yao: He looks like a kid to me, I can't respect him. It annoys me that a player who is 7"6' can't make a basket 2 feet from the basket and doesn't dominate. Does he even have to jump to dunk? Bowen: Basketball is meant to have tough defense, but keep it clean. I saw when he injured VC, it really pissed me off. I read a lot of players admit Bowen is dirty, Tim Duncan acknowledged it. Jason Kidd: Don't really dislike him, just think he is a spawnling of a troll or something. VC: A man without honour. Also is a huge whiny baby. KG: Seems to much of a creep. I read this somewhere that he punched a rookie in the head for dunking on him... Also he punched Wally Szwerbiack I believe.
"Wince" Carter. You're prolly wondering why then, do you have him as your favorite player? Well I like him for how he plays, but I dislike him as a person. The guy has no pride, is absolutely selfish, and like SkiptoMyLue11 says, is a huge whiner. I bet you anything that when the Nets start losing alot, he'll come crying back.
Players I Dislike: Carmelo - rude little punk Ben Wallace - another punk who has the nerve to go espn after the brawl and say he had nothing to do with it when he obviously started the beef by overreacting to a foul. Shaq - same reason as above, only reason he is good is because he is his natural size and plus, some reason he thinks he need to be making 30 million dollars a year when he isnt as good as he used to be. Plus he talks sh*t and stays in the past. Plus he acts like a stupid kid, seriously who uses the terms........lets not mention the k word....seriously a little childish? Vince Carter + Tmac - not hard workers, if there not happy they get lazy and dont play good, and thats a under statment. a couple of more punks.
