Quote:

Kevin McHale's original plan when he replaced Flip Saunders as Timberwolves coach was to try to get the team on a winning track, then turn the coaching over to one of the assistants. McHale is 4-4 as the team's coach and, with a 29-30 record entering today's game at Boston, the Timberwolves are still struggling. And with the team battling for a playoff spot, it is likely McHale will finish the season as head coach. However, McHale has made it clear that he doesn't plan to be the coach after this season. McHale says his goal is just to make the Timberwolves players work a lot harder than they have in the past. And he has been making some progress. If you attended a Wolves practice, you would see the coaches leave at the end of practice and McHale would always hang around to work with some of the young players or some of the injured players. "I just hope that they believe in themselves and that everybody out there knows that they're a real valuable piece of this team," McHale said. "Every single person on that team is valuable, from Ndudi Ebi to Kevin Garnett. No one more, no one less. Everybody's valued the same. "Everybody's expected to do their job. Everybody's accountable for their job. Everybody's accountable to help their teammate. That's the only way it can work." Does McHale sense a different attitude since he took over as coach? "No. I wasn't on the bench. I didn't know what was going on," he said. " All I know is that we've just got to keep playing basketball. We've got to go out there and play hard. One person happy with the job that McHale has done is the owner of the team, Glen Taylor. "I believe once he gets the injured players back we can make a good run for a playoff spot," Taylor said.
Link
you know?, i just now before reading this post had a drift off, thinking about how the team starts to fight like hell and win games like giants, thinking about KG says he and the guys found their rythem " it took too long, but now were back!" say in was so good if it was reality, damn!
I think McHale has his guys playing hard, but the bottom line is this. This team is just not good and this team is affected by being short-handed. I thought the interesting part of that article was the first paragraph of the article by Sid Hartman in which he was going to coach till the team got on track for good and than hand the job to one of the assistants which is most likely would be Randy Wittman.
