B-B-B-B-BRAD?? @ Wednesday, March 8 2005 Projected Starters C- Brian Skinner PF- Darius Songaila SF- Peja Stojakovic SG- Cat Mobley PG- Mike Bibby C- Lorenzen Wright PF- The Custodian SF- Shane Battier SG- Mike Miller PG- Jason Williams Preview Memphis might be short handed, but they are playing good ball. It would be fantastic if Brad Miller would come back for this game, but if Sac plays like they did against Detroit, we should win. Prediction I predict that this preview will lack substance, and that the Kings will win. SAC 100 MEM 95

cant really say at this point that missing Miller KT and Mobley will be good or bad or inconsequential. Bibby and Stojakovic can score in bundles and if they are hittin on all cylenders, the offensive production will pretty much be taken care of with some help from the rest of the starters and the bench. I am looking forward to seeing how the defensive side of the ball shakes out. Williamson and Skinner will hopefully be able to come up with a few extra rbs/blocks & defensive stops in order to give the Kings a chance to pick up a lead going into the 4th and retain the lead. If they continue to play like they did against the pistons they should come away from this game with a win.

WOW.Just when you think youre getting Brad Miller back in the lineup Mobley joins him on the sideline and Kenny Thomas suddenly feels left out and follows him.I predict a big fat let down in this game.Sure the grizzlies are w/o Gasol, but the Kings will be without 4 valuable players. If the Kings lose its because of injuries, period.I hate this.
KT wasnt feeling left out, he had "personal business" that kept him from playing tonight. nowhere can i find what that personal business is... but thats what that was about. he is not injured
ok... who are you and what have you done with the real kings rebounding???? its currently halftime and the kings are now sitting on a 52-37 lead. the really major thing is that the Kings have already racked up 29 rbs and 5 blocks!!
I'm lovin this game so far. The Kings are playing tough on the defensive end and barring a collapse, should be able to pull it out.
WHOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA BIBBYYYY!!!!!!! Kings win 85-82 off the last second shot from deep 3pt range by Bibby!
What a monster win for the Kings. Bibby's shot was ridicilous!!! Money Mike earned his keep tonight. I'm sure that we wont hear the end of the complaining about the "tip" but its about time that some other team got screwed by the refs. What an awesome game!!!!!
Play of the Game!!! Here is your Play of the Game. right click and save as you must have the divX 5 codec installed As you might have guessed its Bibby's last second shot for the win and the highlight reels
WOW. Thanks for the clip, harbinger. That has to be one of the best buzzer beaters that I've ever seen. Great win.
wow.. now that I have recovered... its time for the recap talk about doing a 180... The Kings in this game went from being a team who had previously relied on their offense to keep them in a game to relying on defense to keep them in tonights game. This is a team that was either last or close to it in almost every defensive catagory across the board just a couple weeks ago. Tonight, however, the "new era" Kings had 47rbs 7stls and 7blks and held the Griz to 36.1% shooting from the floor. Can anyone remember the last time the Kings had defensive numbers like this against a playoff calibur team? Its been a while thats for sure.... And it was a very good thing for the Kings because if it had not been for that defensive work they had put in, they would have handed the game away on what seems incredible to say... offensive lapses. Mike Bibby was not only clutch on his last second shot, he was also the only Kings player to score in the entire 4th quarter from the floor. In fact, the Kings went 10 minutes between the end of the third and 6:43 left in the 4th before Bibby hit a jumper from about 17. After that jumper? Skinner was the only other King to score and that was from the charity stripe. Whats up with that? Its really part of the deal that was made to send Webber to the Sixers. You really cant argue the fact that Webber is one of the best passers in the leage. All those assists have to come from somewhere in the Kings offensive scheme and untill the rest of the Kings get a handle on making those passes that came to Webber so easily, they are going to have turnovers galore and at the most inopportune times. Tonights game was a perfect example of that. The biggest problem with the offense was really sloppy ball handling that gave Memphis not only the chance to get back into the game but plenty of opportunities to take the game which they failed to grasp. The final phase of the 180 turnaround? someone else getting jobbed by the refs and really not having anyone but themselves to blame. Should the clock have started at the tip of the inbound pass to Bibby? Yes, but didnt the Kings also give them plenty of opportunities to take control of the game before it came down to that? .... Sometimes its good to be the Kings.... sorry, I couldnt help myself on that one...

Now with him gone, they are trying to force things a bit and trying to make the pass when there clearly isnt a pass that can be made which is resulting in higher turnovers. Its the same thing with the assists. The assists are way down since the trade for the exact same reason. Dont get me wrong... I am not saying that these are things that cant be fixed, Im sure they can. The truth is exactly how I put it when the trade went down. the absence of Webber leaves a gaping hole in the offensive game that can easily be covered up, but its going to be readily apperent untill they do cover it up.
