Anyone know who's contract is up? Anyone Know the free agency situation with the Raptors? -who's unresricted? -who's restricted? Anyone know the current salaries and the raptors cap situation? Anyone know what draft picks we have this year and where they will most likely end up? will we have a top 10? top 15 or 20? Let's pool our collective information here and get a clear idea of what this team can or could, would or should do in the impending off-season.
bonner and sow are both restricted. palacio and marshall are both unrestricted. cap situation isnt great but it isnt too bad. with marshall's contract comming off the books, and with the alonzo buyout we'll have a little bit of flexibility. jalen will prolly be dealt, and so will lammond and eric williams, so we've got some room for sure. im not sure where our pick stants if we even have one. we might have dealt it away, but the jersey pick and the philly pick both kind of lay in their hands...depending on where they finnish of course

As for picks we will have our draft pick next year likely in the 7-10 range. And we will have phillies which is top 8 protected(meaning philly keeps the pick this year if the pick is between 1-8, we would get there pick for 06) but we will most likely get it between 12-17. As for the jersey pick that is for 2006 draft.
who do u think the rapters will or should pick after picking Hafa last year at 8th the Rapters might pick some1 like him again this year. The draft is not as strong as years past

No player in the top 30 was a true center I think. Except Harrison for indiana. I hope that this year Babcock picks on best available talent, instead of purely on what we need.
there is one thing that i dont understand, the team that finishes first in our division automatically gets the third seed, my questin is, what number pick will that team get will it be based on their overall record or their seeding?

I'd like to see the Raptors keep Rose. Trading him away would give us maybe relief over cap space, but it would also mean that we would get a lesser talent, maybe an often-injured guy like Jamal Mashburn or Anferee Hardaway. I'd rather take the 16ppg and clutch play by Rose over someone who won't even play at all. We have to work on getting rid of Lammond and maybe Alvin Williams. If Alvin is healthy and ready to go for next season, then we can afford to lose Palacio, especially if we have to choose between offering him and Bonner a contract.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15:</div><div class="quote_post">Alvin was also supposed to be ready for this season....</div> Alvin rested all last summer trying to get his knees settled down. He showed up to training camp but after the first couple of days, it was apparent he wasn't going to be available. As soon as he choose to have surgery, he immediatly became unavailable for the entire season. I've heard that if he is ready for next year, the target date is around training camp. So he's not close at all at this point. I hope he is available next year. He's a much better passer than Milt, and is a true PG in my opinion.
I think with the Raps 2 picks this year, we should take a PG and a swingman.... With our 8-10 pick take Raymond Felton or Jarett Jack who is Boshs' best friend or another good PG... and the other pick one, a Rashad Mccants or Joey Graham, Warrick...
^I sooooooooo wouldn't want Jarrett Jack to come to Toronto. I heard he is just another player who underutilizes his talent and underachieves. We do not need that here in Toronto. I do agree that I would want Felton to be draftted and take the place of Palacio. As much as I LOVE Milt, I can't stand the fact that we have a point guard with horrible decision making abilities and a flat jump shot. I would take a chance on Hakim Warrick with our mid round pick. Everyone says that he won't have a good NBA career but I think otherwise. I really think this kid will surprise some people once the season starts. I also wouldn't mind picking up Julius Hodge in the second round just to see how he would pan out as a pro. We don't have to exactly sign him but he could turn out to be a steal. IF we can get Reddick in the 2nd round that would be equally as good. He can turn into a Fred Hoiberg type of player in time.

I'd get another good backup PG anyways because I put no faith in Alvins health. Yea, he's a warrior, but their's a limit to "being a warrior" or being "tough", why kill 2 years of your career so you can play in 10 games? People praise guys for playing through injuries, but sometimes it's just common sense to sit and not further jeopardize your career just to look tough around fans, media, or whoever. Anyways, he's not a "true PG", he's a good passer, but has no drive and dish skills, no floor general abilities, and he's just a good decision making and passing SG. He's like a Bob Sura kinda guy, they can pass, but they aren't PG's. He commits few turnovers because he doesn't create much off the dribble for teammates. Also I think the knee problems will relaly take away from his defense, and quickness, and I don't know how effective he will be. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I would take a chance on Hakim Warrick with our mid round pick. Rafer actually has dissapointed me a lot with his creativity, you just expect a guy who is a streetball legend to be able to at least throw lob passes, or an alley-oop, but I've never seen the guy throw any. On the break he doesn't realize that if you're the fastest guy on the team you can't just sprint as fast as you can down the floor unless you're going right for the layup.

In the end he ends up drivig to the hole or shooting a flat jumper. Most of the time it looks like he doesn't know what the hell he wants to do. That works to his advantage at times but it's really irritating to watch.
