I think he should, as I always enjoy players more in school than out. However, he does have the "talent" to be a Top 5 pick now. Is he, should he be? Depends on who you ask. With Anderson done, this kid eases into the starting 2 spot. Take Gay, with an ever improving Marcus Williams, add the shooting of Denham Brown, and the combo of Charlie Villenueva and Boone! That is a rediculous starting 5. Add AJ Price and the incoming class and this team could roll the '99 maybe the '04 teams. I've heard Charlie is gone, Boone WAS thinking about it. Gay is listening. But if they all come back. Can you imagine the potential?

If Rudy Gay were to declare for the draft (which i don't think he should), his freakish athleticsm should automically make him a top 20-25 pick. I believe he should stay another year and try to go for that NCAA title especialy with the new crop of players coming to UConn. He can really go for the boards and is an underrated passer. I've admired his play since his senior year in HS, and so I know for fact that he should definitely improve on his handles. He's not very good at covering the ball, but in a few years, he'll mos def. be a good player in the NBA.

If Gay was drafted by your favorite team, would you buy his jersey and risk humiliation. Even if he lives up to the hype and becomes a very good player, his jersey sales are going to be low, cause nobody wants to wear a jersey that says Gay.

Send him to the Warriors, Clippers or Lakers. Sales in San Fransisco will be through the roof. [IMG]

No seriously....there's nothing to be humiliated about. I would hope that people wouldn't factor that into their decision to buy a jersey if they were a fan of the player. I'm not gay, but if I were a fan of this guy, I'd sport his jersey proudly.

Not to mention, I'd probably wear it out in public just to see how many aholes would be dumb enough to say something derogatory. It would give me the opportunity to administer a little "knowledge"(probably in the form of a** kickings) to the ignorant.

Any Idiot Who Wouldnt By The Jersey Because It Said Gay, Needs To Either Take Off His Pampers, Or Take A Trip Back In A Time Machine To Where People Were So Closed Minded, Because They Dont Belong Living In 2005. As Far As Greg Oden Going #1 Over Rudy Gay, If He Developes His Defense And Turns Into A Superstar Next Season, I Have Not One Scout To Tell Me He's Anything Less. All Talks Have Pointed To Greg Oden Actually Beginning To Dip A Slight Bit. And Besides All That, Oden Has Stated Several Times On Live Tv And In The Papers He Will And Wants To Go To College.

With U Conn's frontcourt talent i was surprized Syracuse beat them last night, I'd think all 3 would return as they'd have a good shot at an NCAA title next year. They have a chance this season but haven't been consistant. I'd heard Oden was thinking college but a lot of high schoolers who have jumped had signed on to go to college. Super soph OJ Mayo was averaging 29 pt,8rbd,8 assists as a 6-5 point G- He's started for North College Hill HS since he was an 8th grader--when he only averaged 20 ppg.

I'm hoping they all return. Boone with almost certainly comeback but the other two are question marks.

I would get a jersey of whatever team drafted him and customize it so its his number but say "homosexual". No, not really, but it would be funny [IMG]

I defiantly think that Gay should stay for one more year.. UCONN has the team to win a 'Ship in 2006... He would also be better off in the draft.

most people think gay will stay one more year....he would be top five in my opinion if he came out now....UConn does have the team to win in 06 IF charlie V stays in school......potentially following next year they could lose boone (on a 3 year graduating plan), charlie V, Gay, Rashad anderson and marcus williams

In the U Conn-NC St game,NC St frosh Andrew Brackman played better than Gay-but Brackman is also on baseball scholarship. As a jr in HS he lead his team to an Ohio St hoops championship(Div 1...LeBron was in Div 2),as a SR Brackman's 95mph fastball lead them to a state title in baseball-and he's seen as a big time prospect as a 6-10 pitcher

i'm sure brackman has a better chance to be in the Majors than in the NBA.

One more year Rudy thats all it will take to show everyone that you are the real deal. Oh, and yes I would rock the jersey proudly and rock the snotbox of anyone who talked smack about it!!! Only if the jersey looked hot though. If he gets drafted by Golden State or New Orleans then i don't know!!!! HA HA HA

I think that Rudy should stay, but I don't think he will. The kid to me, is a sure fire lottery pick due to his insane athleticism and skills in general. He probably could have went draft straight out of high school and gotten picked in the lottery, and now, with a year of college under his belt, he's got that much more experience and will be that much more ready to take on the people at the NBA level. I think he goes and is likely to be picked in the lottery.

If Rudy and Villanueva put as much effort into their D and rebounding as Boone,U Conn would still be in the tournament. I see HS,JC guys fight for position, box out, play full effort D a full game and then I see phenoms cruise along using maybe 80% of their talent, thinking the flashy slam or deep 3 will get them the big NBA $...and for some it seems to, but if they stay one-dimensional or lack the hustle and work habits, soon some overachiever will take their job and we've all seen overpaid,one- time lottery stars fade away. Rudy has talent,no question, but the NBA is not your crosstown HS rival. A good comparison would be Warrick,a guy who plays to win, plays like he's bigger, stronger than he is,and he's the type who will do what it takes to get better, and to win every game. When Rudy Gay gets that mindset, then he's ready to be big time. There are a few others these comments also apply to,guys who got the star reputation early,as high schoolers, and have a year or two of pretty good college play, but get ranked above the guys who merely played great in college but never got tagged with "Lottery Potential" the day they put on a college uni.

Gay will be a top 5 pick if he comes out, but I agree with most of you, he should play another year. Boone should also stay, and so should CV. Out of those three, I'm almost certain CV will jump to the NBA. He's been itching to enter the draft since his JR year in high school. I think CV still needs to work on his fundamentals, but he said he want's to do what's best for his family, which means getting paid.
