He is there to scout Taft. Some poster on warriorsworld.net said he had inside sources that Mullin would make a run for Baron Davis. He said this days before any news broke out. The night before the deadline the news came out and everyone freaked out. Same poster says Mullin is in love with Taft. Loves the fact he has big soft hands and uses the post. They both went to the same highschool in Brooklyn. Now Mullin is at a Pittsburgh game? Taft.....

If we go for Taft, this gives me the impression we are moving Murphy or will have Taft as a bench player
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting J-Rich23:</div><div class="quote_post">Ask him if he is part of the organization. If we go for Taft, this gives me the impression we are moving Murphy or will have Taft as a bench player</div> No he's not.
I hope Taft has a disappointing game then. He is extremely overrated and won't put the effort into becoming a good player for the Warriors. The only reason why his stock is high, is because of the lack of big men in the draft this year. With his size and skills he should be a dominant collegiate player, but he's not. He's been a non-factor in most of the teams big wins this year and he has barely increased his numbers from his freshman season. He has all the qualities of a bust.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting mrj18:</div><div class="quote_post">shape, are you trying to tell me he is another Tim Thomas??</div>Possibly, but Taft has no outside shot and can only score in the blocks. However, he never fights for position or demands the for the ball, kind of like Michael Olowokandi.

We don't really need someone like this or any team really. We already have the leagues best underacheiver in NY, we don't need him here and Golden State doesn't need him either. My Suggestion to you guys, get Splitter. He seems legit.
mullin is going to draft someone who can be dominant in the low post offensively and that looks to be taft.....mullin will most likely go after him....the last guy mullin was "in love" with while scouting was bierdens....

The Warriors saw first hand with Dampier how a player with no motivation except money performs. They should learn from that experience and not make the same mistake with Taft. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Several NBA scouts told Insider recently that they were unimpressed with Taft this season. "I think he has a bad case of NBA-itis," one NBA scout said. "He just looks like he's going through the motions. Last year he had something to prove. This year, he seems like he's just trying not to get hurt." </div>
First of all, is Taft unhappy with the point guard at Pitt? You all saw what not having a point guard in Golden State since Timmy Hardaway could do to our inside game. It causes the big guys to get frustrated and not want to work as hard fighting for position. Gotta feed the big dog if you want him to protect the yard.

Taft.....</div> I heard that rumor days before it came out as well, but it was Pietrus, Dale Davis for Baron Davis, but I think Mullin was trying to argue against trading Pietrus. It was on this board in one of the rumor forums I think. Then again I've been to so many boards.
This is college basketball. Many good players including Jason Richardson & Andre Igoudala didn't put up great stats but it didn't mean they weren't capable, the focus was on the team. Taft doesn't get the touches he should. The lack of motivation is a major concern though. http://forums.warriorsworld.net/main/msgs/824559.phtml Read that. Supposedly Dunleavy tagged along. His brother, Baker Dunleavy plays for Nova. Weird huh?
Hmm, I dunno. "Supposedly" being the key word. I can't believe some of those guys didn't know about Mullin's accent. The guy's the original white chocolate, man. Memphis' Jason Williams can't even hold up a candle to that nickname, btw.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting mrj18:</div><div class="quote_post">shape, are you trying to tell me he is another Tim Thomas??</div> From what I've seen, he's another Chris Washburn.
There may never be another Washburn. Taft likely will be a good backup F/C,though,perhaps he could be motivated to become more. A 6-10 C MUST play with a lot of energy and smarts. A 6-10 F must have some shooting touch,be a tough guy on the boards,be active. Taft is sort of a tweener, not ready to dominate at either spot
