<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Reality is starting to set in for the Indiana Pacers: All-Star forward Jermaine O'Neal probably will be out longer than the five games he is required to miss for being placed on the injured list. How much longer? Nobody knows. "There's no official word yet, but I'm starting to be afraid this is more serious than we hoped," Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said Thursday. O'Neal has spent most of the week in Los Angeles, visiting doctors and getting extra opinions on his right shoulder. Carlisle doesn't know whether O'Neal will need surgery. If he does, O'Neal's already shortened season likely would be over. </div> Source
Jermaine is engine on Indiana, if he doesn't work the whole car (team) won't work. I want to see Indy in the playoffs, hopefully he won't be out that much longer.
^Goin crazy with the metaphors there Kobe. I am going to say that IF JO goes down their playoff hopes go down with them. You can take Artest away and they will make it, take away Tinsley and they will make it, but you take away JO on top of all of that........it's over. This is just not the Pacers year. But I do know they will regroup next year and make a good run at the finals.
What a difference a year makes. Last year the Pacers and TWolves had the best records in their conference, and this year both are struggling to even make the playoffs. The Pacers should come back strong next season though. They still have a young core of players, and should get a good draft pick this year.

"Unfortunately, I am done for the rest of the regular season," O'Neal said. "There is a chance, if rehab goes well, that I can play maybe in the first round of the playoffs. It just depends on what the rehab does. I feel pretty good about it. I feel the possibility is probably greater for me to play in the first round of the playoffs than I felt two or three days ago.</div> Source - http://www.nba.com/pacers/news/oneal_050318.html
