Amid Losses, Jazz Learn Stretch Play

    And the proof of that, coach Jerry Sloan said, is in the Jazz's comeback against the Pacers. After every possible part of their game failed them in the first quarter, Utah gradually cut into the deficit, finally emerging, after a 19-4 run, with a three-point lead.
    "We could have laid down," Sloan said. "You look at every team that's ever lost 40 ballgames and won 20 - see how many of them fight back with a 25-point deficit and get back in the game. Most of them will lay down. I'd say 90-95 percent of them. These guys fought back, so I have to give them credit. That's how you win games, by work[ing] that hard. and I think these guys are learning that."</div>
