Please post anything that you know about Juwan's condition/recovery time or anything like that. I'm really worried that he will be out for a while. It would screw everything up.
i couldn't find the info from nowhere , i hope nothing serious, he's been doing good for the team. we need him.
yeah hopefully it's nothing serious.....whenever juwan gets double figures in rebounds, the rockets are tough to beat
I'm listening to Mark and Rich on Sports Radio 610, and they had Sura on. He said that the rumours he's heard is that Howard's injury could be season-ending. What a cruddy way to end a great road trip, if that's true.
If Juwan's out for the season, we could find it very hard to surprise teams in the playoffs. All our potential playoffs opponents, with the exception of Seattle, have strong rebounders and offensive players at the four. I just can't see Weatherspoon, Padgett or Baker handle the likes of Duncan, Marion or Nowitzki.
This sucks! If he's out then we might very well be screwed. Unfortunately, we can't afford to lose Juwan at all. He is not the strongest pf in the first place, but he's all we got. I'm gonna be so pissed if our hopes of at least putting up a monstrous fight in the playoffs get ruined over Juwan Howard's knee. Damn the basketball gods!
I really hate the fact that this is what we get in return of not playing nowitzki, finley, marion, dunleavy, randolph....
My gut feeling is that Juwan will be out for the season. My gut feeling is also that someone will step up and play inspired basketball. Not sure who, but someone. There is too much pride and closeness on this team for the loss of one man to ruin their success.
Yeah I heard the interview and the unfortunate news........this really sucks <strike>a$$</strike>.....hopefully we can overcome this <font color="red"><font size="-2">Just doing that won't hide the fact that it is profanity to some. Stay away from it next time. ~Trip</font></font>

Weatherspoon and Baker are the ones whose careers have to be revived. They also have much more experience than Padgett being starters, and Padgett can only get so far on his hustle and outside shooting alone. I don't believe he could consistently be a good starter in the NBA, but he could prove me wrong.
Yeah, I'm sure someone will step it up. Houston has a pretty deep team so either Padgett, Weatherspoon, or Baker will step it up. Preferably Weatherspoon or Padgett. I still have a lot of faith in them to contribute to this team, I mean Weatherspoon's got the toughness to bang down low and should be a nice rebounder. Padgett on the other hand has shown he has the speed to keep up with small forwards while also having the toughness to hang with the taller players. Not to mention he has the nice three point touch sometimes. However, I still would rather have Howard on this team. He is a constant threat for his offensive game but has also developed into a very nice rebounder and defensive player for this team under the guidance of Van Gundy. If his injury really is season ending, Houston might be in trouble.
Sorry about the foul language trip...........man I hope bobby was just playing a early April Fools joke on us......we need Scotty the Body now more than ever!!!
This must be basketball karma. How wins have we gotten this season against good team without key players who were injured? (Nowitzki, Finley, LeBron, Ginobili, Marion, ...). UPDATE: Reports are that Juwan got a second degree MCL sprain (not sure what that means). Anyways, he'll be out a minimum of 4 weeks. Best cast scenario, then, he could be back for the last week of the regular season. But if that happened, there's no guarantee he'd be as effective as he has been. Still, there's a ray of hope.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting T-Clutch-Mac:</div><div class="quote_post">Dad Gum falling Mike James head, o how I hate thee</div> The James aquisition was just too good to be true. Something like this just had to happen.
I was told that Howard will be out for over 4 weeks. Thats a big blow considering how well he has played for the Rockets lately. Will Vin Baker be the starting 4 man?
We will probably insert Scott Padgett a starter and have Weatherspoon and Baker rotating throught the games. Look for a loss of production in rebounding obviously.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Look for a loss of production in rebounding obviously.</div> I don't know about that. Weatherspoon is a pretty good rebounding and in my opinion, a better defensive player than Juwan Howard. Am I the only one that believes in Weatherspoon? All I am saying here is give him a chance and you might see something special. Like Padgett, who was given a chance in the eight game winning streak, he surprised all of us with his range.
Man, this is definetley a blow to the Rockets. Howard brings a lot of inside presence and is a solid guy to have. This will definetley make things tougher on the Rockets. By the way, Vin Baker still exists? If he does get any significant playing time it will be intresting to see how he plays.
