Palmer will be classified as a "sleeper pick" this year. I'd pick him up late as a backup and may very well end up looking like a genius when he goes off in that offense.

    Hey...you never know!

Carson is a very smart move at backup, He should be able to put up some major numbers next year, im expecting him to throw at least 30 TDs next year.

I agree, I'd like a QB who has the ability to run as well. I'd go with Vick, Culpepper or McNabb.

I dont care if they could run. Just hand the ball of to the RB and have them run away...Thats what they are there for! RUNNING BACK DUH lol

What if the QB gets into trouble back in the pocket? If they have the ability to run they can make something out of nothing and gain some decent yards. I guarantee that if the QB of the Packers was a hybrid you would be singing a different tune.

I agree tht a QB should run when in trouble but Vick overdoes it. He needs more patience and should let the running to the RBs. Its not bad if he runs once evry 5 plays but scrambling almost everyplay is too much.

You're right. I would love to see Vick develop into a better pocket passer but still keeping his ability to scramble when he needs to. I hope to see some improvement in the passing game this season, because without the passing game the Falcons will always fall short of the big game.

DPG : That would be OK if the QB passes for lots of TDs too. A dominant running game can make a QB a bad fantasy pick though. For example, the Cowboys team that was so dominant in the early '90s featured Aikman at QB. Aikman was a great leader and a solid QB; but, because Emmitt carried the ball across the goalline more often than not, Aikman was mediocre at best as a fantasy QB.
I know you could find arguements the other way, (Favre/A. Green comes to mind) where a QB keeps solid Fantasy numbers despite a solid running game. I'm just not sure that at this juncture of his carrer that Vick breaks the goalline enough (running AND passing) to be considered an elite fantasy QB. I wouldn't draft him early.

also we are talking about fantasy and in fantasy football a running qb is great because not only does he give u passing yards and passing TDs he gives u running yards and running TDs. Its killing two birds with one stone.

But he must still actually pass for some too. Mike Vick doesn't!

Actually, I don't agree with the double threat for running QBs. Look how dominant Favre's fantasy #'s have been for the last 8-9 years. Manning last year. Marino in his best years. None were runners, and no running QB came close to touching their fantasy production. TDs rack up points quicker than yardage (although yardage is helpful) and the ball can travel through the air much faster than it can be carried under an arm, so you have the opportunity to score many more times when the ball is in the air a lot. Quicker scoring is more efficient in fantasy football. It leads to more scoring opportunities.

If a QB relies on his feet more than or as much as his arm, there's also a significant increase on the probability of missing time. And let's face it, no one wants a QB that only plays in an average of 10-11 games per season.

theres plenty of people who could be good, it all depends on who they have to help them.

like look at Manning he has some great WRs and he blows up every year.

then ya had the Jeff Garcias

he was good in SF and ya take him to cleveland and he cant do anything.

my picks this year are goung to probably be around the same as everyone elses:

    Maninng
    McNabb
    Trent Green
Mike Vick, only because he can rin and get TDs that way.

I think it depends on the scoring rules of the league you are in. However, assuming manning is going to throw 40 again, then it is hard to imagine someone other than him at # under any rules.
