The infamous 5 vs. 12 matchup jinx looks like it has found it's first victim. Alabama is being manhandled by the Wis. Milwaukee Panthers 38-25 with about 5 minutes left in the first half. The Panthers are on fire from behind-the-arc hitting 9 of 13 and are shooting 65% from the field.

From what I've heard Wisc. Milwaukee are draining three's like crazy. This team is also deep, so 'Bama will be wore down before you know it!

Wis. Milwaukee leads 45-32 at the half. Alabama got within 10 points, but the Panthers continued their 3 point onslaught to end the half. The Panthers already have made 10 of 16 from three point land. The last time 'Bama has led in this game was 4-3.

Leading Scorers @ the Half
Ed McCants -- 9 (WIS-MIL)
Chris Hill -- 9 (WIS-MIL)
Kennedy Winston -- 12 (ALA)

I am very dissapointed with Bama today. I know everyone was pimping UW-Mil, but Alabama has went deep in the last three years so I figure it would be wise to pick Bama. I did not figure Bama would stink today which they did. Bama's offense was horrible and they had their player rebound the ball and then scored for the other team. Alabama just did not get it done today.

This is very dissapointing since I had Bama in the sweet 16. Alabama is normally a good tournament team so I have zero regret picking them.

If FDU can beat Illinois, I hit a grand slam.

Everything I had read/looked at told me to pick this upset. I just couldnt think it would happen considering how well Alabama has preformed in the past in the tourney.

Oh well, I just hope Wis. Milwaukee wins thier next round as well so anyone who picked BC in that game will lose.

I think UW-Mil will beat B.C. I was impressed with UW-Mil's defense. They got lot of Teyshaun Prince type of players.

This was the 27th time a number 12 seed have beaten a number 5. It was just raining threes in that first half for UW and really Bama just could never do enough to get any closer than 5. This didn't help my bracket but It is always good to see an early upset.

I picked Wisconsin-Milwaukee to get past BC to the Sweet 16 and lose there. They were my cinderella team. I knew Bama was so overrated, since UF clobbered them.

Where's Jagman? lmao

Alabama obviously didn't come to win, and Milwaukee just wanted it more. UW-Milwaukee was flat out on fire from beyond the arc. And Alabama turned it over way too much, so Milwaukee scored off those turnovers...

I won't be the least bit surprised to see this team pull another upset and beat Boston College.

Wait, jagman told me Alabama was going all the way. I bet this really screws up his bracket. Anyway, I have most of these SEC teams out early. I had Alabama out in this one in most of my brackets, and the rest out in the second round (except Kentucky who I have losing in the Sweet 16).

I bet I sure do look like the biggest jackass here at JBB and I have earned it. Alabama hugely dissapointed me on Thursday, but next year looks very bright. BTW, look at my bracket, I picked Illinois over Alabama in the Sweet 16, so I'm not as screwed as many of you think I am, I did pick Vermont to be in the Sweet 16 and the same for Texas Tech.[IMG]
