The Nets dont have any chance if philly or cleveland do not lose.
Actually they are behind 2 in the loss column on cleveland and I think that CLE holds the tiebreaker so they might need them to lose 3
no the nets have the tie braker im pretty sure they just beat the hell out of them on tuesday i think and they won another one when jefferson won they game with that ally opp

The Nets took 2 of 3 from the Cavs this year.
Scoreboard Watching Well with the Nets off tonight was all about scoreboard watching. And the Nets got an ecellent gift from Atlantic Divion foe Boston Celtics as they knocked of the Sixers 105-98. Nets are now within a game of the 8th spot. Tommorrow's game vs the Pacers will be major as the Nets now have the chance to move within a 1/2 game with the victory.
I used to know Reggie Miller as the Knick killer, but now I am confused. The Nets lost following a clutch out burst by Miller. They now need philly to lose against Miami... Edit: it looked to me like Carter was hurting at the end of the game following the Foster hit. I just hope that it is nothing major.
i hope the nets go to the playoffs... so nets fans from a rockets fan i give ya'll luck.... kick some ass hopefully in the post season.. ahhhhhhhhh yup!(yin yang twins)
Oh boy, Philly just beat Miami...I think that I can safely say that the Nets are not going to be in the playoffs this year. Philly clearly showed a will to win, will show this same will against all of the teams that it is going to play; including the Nets. I highly doubt that the Nets will even be able to pull a win over Philly, considering that Webber is back.
Don't disappointed too much, we are not out yet, everything has its turing point, like today sixers win heat, we have a home court advantage against sixers, and sixers will travel to indiana...and Cavaliers will travel to Washinton and Detroit... It's hard to decide everything.
I have a good feeling that Cleveland or Philly will drop out. I think Philly has a better chacne of staying in, as Cleveland is having consistency problems, and has the harder schedule overall. Nets can still make it folks.
Cleveland has Pistons next....and the Pistons are on a streak. If the Nets beat Philly, which will be tough, and the Pistons beat Cleveland, then the Nets once again shall have an assured playoff spot under the condition of winning all of it games.
^Yeah, I don't know if Cleveland can pull out a much needed victory against the NBA champs. New Jersey MUST take advantage. They have the Sixers who just finished beating the Heat recently so you can imagine their confidence has soared. If NJ wins this game, than they do have a very legit shot at the post season. Btw, what's up with Cleveland? They're playing the way the Knicks were in January!
^ indeed they are! I would atribute thier troubles to thier new ownership...not that I wish to complain about it .
here the 6ers are pretty muched locked they pretty much insured wins againts the bucks and hawks and they play the nets so lets say they lose to the nets there gunan go 2-1 and they finish over .500 so its pretty much were chasing cleveland for the 8th they play detriot boston and toronto i can really only see them beating toronto so they finsih @ .500 the nets play philly washington and boston witch is sordof tough i see us beeting philly and boston witch would put us at 1 game over. but u never no james and carter can drop 50 at any given nite but they cant do it alone dont we hold the tie breaker over Cleveland, just incase the records are tied?
Although not guaranteed yet, the Nets are finally on the inside, looking futher inside! And the Nets have their destiny completely in their hands now, without having to rely on opponent losses. Carter has definitely backed up his words on pushing the Nets into their highest gear, just in time for the impending playoffs, and the team has followed. Kidd is showing that no surgury can stop him from putting on a defensive clinic, even on the fastest and scrappiest guards like Iverson. Man I cannot stop emphasizing how huge tonight's win was versus Philly. Two more tought matchups coming up, but the Nets show no sign of slowing down.
Quoting thedude9990:

dont we hold the tie breaker over Cleveland, just incase the records are tied?
The Nets now hold tie breakers over both Cleveland and Philly. I forgot exactly how the tie breakers work for 3-way team ties, but if all three teams happen to tie, the Nets would get 7th, and Philly would get 8th. Cleveland would be out.
I was just looking over the original blueprint that you made, and I am simply astounded at the accuarcy of it. Almost all of the records are about to match up with the ones that you blueprinted. I must say: a might fine job .

I have to admit, I did tweak the .500 and .400 numbers a bit last week when I found a small miscounting error, so it's +/- 1 game different than the real original. Here's hoping Atlanta gets their 14th win of the season on wednesday. edit: Ok, I just found another miscount error, and fixed it. Perhaps it was last week's change that caused this.
Well It looks like it will come down to the final game in Boston. And man dont you know guys like PP and Walker would love to send us home for the year. It will be a small bit of redemption for them from the 2002 playoffs, when we sent them home 4-2 and then the swept job we did to them in 2003, so I know we will be in for a war inorder to get in. Boston may not have anything to play for in the standings, but this one is going to be like a playoff game....
The Boston crowd will be raucous. I remember how they treated Kidd, I expect the same thing from them. The Nets are going to have jump out to an early lead and keep a very good margin until the end of the game.
