McGrady is actually a good defender. Under the guidance of Van Gundy, it has improved from last season and is actually pretty good considering he logs the most minutes in the league. Oh, yeah and none of those players could get their teams far in the playoffs because they have horrible surrounding role players (McGrady in Orlando). Lebron's carrying his team to the playoffs now because he's in the Eastern Conference which is incredibly weak. I mean, half the teams are barely above .500 record and are still like the fifth or sixth seed in the playoffs. Not to mention he has players like Jeff McInnis or Zydrunas. What did Vince, McGrady (in Orlando since you're comparing him in Orlando) and Kobe (of this year) have?
Tracy Mcgrady is a better leader than Kobe, everybody in the NBA hates Kobe so who would listen to Kobe, and this year tracy Mcgrady has played waaayyyyy better d than kobe and vince. The reason Mcgrady doesnt do his best on D is because the rockets need offense and he needs to save his energy. In the clutch he is the best defensive player in the league. ( When he actually tries his best.)

I like TMac and he is probably one of my favorite players of all time, but he is not the leader that Kobe is, who is the heart and soul of the Lakers. I agree that most people hate Kobe, and why? because of their many ignorant fans who compare him to Jordan and all that which get on people's nerves. But there are also the true fans who know and stay in this world called reality, and for the most part Kobe's defense has been sub-par this year but I still think he's as good a defender as TMac is this year. So your also saying that Kobe doesn't play any offense and so he has a lot of energy to play D in which he is just plain bad? pfftt..
