Trevor Ariza is cute as hell and he has a baby face, if thats what you mean when you say "babies". That dude is just madddd cute and I am so happy he is a Knick.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Trip:</div><div class="quote_post">Of course anyone here would jump at any chance of making the NBA. However, who has really been to the level that you actually have a chance? You're just saying this right now, but who can guarantee you'll still act the same if you actually have Francis's talent and just got drafted by Vancouver? </div> Given that nearly all players can act mature enough to be grateful for their God given talent I'm sure anyone on this board would do the same. These 'babies' are the outliers that obviously aren't mature enough to be grateful.
I don't get what they think is so bad about getting taken by a team with a worse record. It means more minutes, and that means you'll get recognized more. Also, bad teams who take a good player in the draft can become much better. Look at Cleveland and LeBron for example. Or Denver with Carmlelo. Even Chicago with Gordon and Deng, and last season Hinrich. So players should look at their options with the team they get drafted by before they start complaining and ask for a trade.

You're just saying this right now, but who can guarantee you'll still act the same if you actually have Francis's talent and just got drafted by Vancouver? The whole nation of Canada thing is just a sidenote; what really matters is playing time for Francis at the time. At the time, he was a PG, period, so no one really got why Stu Jackson made the decision to draft him when Mike Bibby, the number two pick from just a year ago, was already putting up good numbers and was the default starter. This is a big time college player who's used to playing big minutes, and whose skill level already merits at least a starter position for him at the pro level. That's why he didn't want to go to Vancouver. The whole notion of a new country and temperatures unheard of where Francis comes from leads him to a whole new level of unwillingness to be a Grizzly. The fact that Vancouver was losing had nothing to do with this as well, because Francis didn't know where he would end up if Vancouver did trade him. He could've been on the Warriors! That video you posted doesn't tell the whole story as well. He reacted with disappointment when he got drafted, but he still did the post-podium interview and calmly answered all questions. He didn't just go F this, I'm not going to shake Stern's hand. And also, Pau Gasol never even landed in Vancouver; he was traded right to Memphis in their inaugural season after relocating. The draft was held in Washington DC, close to Maryland where Francis played college ball. When Brand was drafted first by the Bulls, many booed. No one but Francis really understood how bad the pick by Vancouver was; they were just happy to see their boy get picked. </div> I am 99.9% sure if I was in Francis' position, I would be very grateful. I don't have a 100 inch vertical leap, abd those skills like Francis so if I worked my way up to becoming the 2nd overall pick in the draft, I would be very grateful. If Vancouver drafted him with Bibby, there must have been a special reason. Who knows, maybe they could have put Steve at the 2, or maybe even have 2 PG's in the back court. Who knows? No one does, but whether he was concerned about his time or not, he should have never acted like that. That is something to be addressed by the coaching staff. People thought Larry Brown was crazy for putting Iverson at the 2, and Snow at the 1. People thought Scott Skiles was crazy for putting Heinrich and Duhon as starters. All in all, we don?t know how it would have worked out. Chicago drafted Ben Gordon with Hinrich and Crawford still there. Will it be all good if Gordon made that face and wanted to leave Chicago? The Clippers drafted Livingston with a developing Marko Jaric around, would he be wrong for acting like Francis? Should Jameer Nelson have acted like knowing Miller and Francis were around? I think you get my drift. Francis did that because it?s something you?re supposed to do. I don?t recall anyone who didn?t do that. I don?t want any excuses like no one wanted to go to a Canadian team. If that were the case, then how the hell would they supposed to get better if their draft picks weren?t even willing to play for them? Let?s say Chris Bosh didn?t want to play for the Raptors, where would they be? I rest my case.Exactly, they were so happy to see their boy literally in a once in a lifetime opportunity. Before he even got the chance to prove himself in the NBA, he already put on an attitude.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Francis has his reasons. The Grizzlies already had Mike Bibby at the point at the time, and let's face it, who would want to go to Canada? </div> How is this even a debateable issue? He was a HIGH draft pick and he was going to be a LOTTERY pick, what, he expected to get picked by the Lakers or something? You're a rookie, be happy wherever you go. That was one of the worst things I had ever seen. You're going to be paid millions soon and you're complaining. Hey, but karma follows you. I'm glad that he struggled in Houston and I'm glad he's struggling now. A player like that, such a spoiled person does not deserve to get millions that the rest of us have to work days, nights, overtime to get. You're playing a SPORT and you're getting MILLIONS of dollars and you're complaining about having to play in a first class city? Wow. If I was David Stern I would have told him to take the deal or leave it afterwards, the way he reacted (not his face but his comments afterwards) were intolerable. The Vancouver Grizzlies shouldn't have traded him, but rather signed him to a rookie contract and if he chose not to play, bench him, that's the only way they'll learn. You're giving crybabies what they want by trading them. I had pretty much forgotten about this incident, now I remember it. Steve Francis is a disgrace, as is any one else who gets drafted or traded to a team and refuses to play there. I lost a little respect for Alonzo and Jim Jackson as well.
