I knew something like this would happen! I just wish it wasn't Barrett though. He deserves to play in the NBA and can be a good player. I really hope some team picks him up and uses him.

Lakers should pick him up for Tierrable Brown. There's not much out there for PFs, maybe Keon Clark or Jerome Moiso or Jelani McCoy gets a shot.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Even tho he was undersized and sometimes made bad decisions he was still a good player. He give this team an extra bit of energy. Its sad to see him go. I hope he can contribute to another team.

Its a shame. I know our PG rotation is very quite strong now (never thought I'd say that earlier in the season) but Barrett is young and we could develop him into a great roleplayer for the team.

Now Clark, Moiso, and Mcoy are all good choices IMO. They have some experience under their belt and I know that Clark and MCoy have had some time on the starting lineups in the past.

oh...my god.....!!!! man it sucks to see andre go man it really does suck to see him go i was hoping for him to develop over the offseason and do a whole lot better next year for the rockets, man was he quick all he needed was just a little more playing time during the season and he could have proved to have been a good PG. well i hope to see him get better over the years and i hope we can get a good power foward in the absence of juwann

I won't be too surprised. Barrett gave us a spark early on but with Sura's strong play and James backing him up, we don't need Barrett around as we also have Mooch and Ward who are much more experienced than he is. It was a great loss of potential though, especially if we one day see Barrett become a great player down the road with another team. We'd better sign a productive player though at the power forward, it would be a waste if we sign Corie Blount, who will definitely not contribute. McCoy might be a good option, but he has no post game either. James Thomas would be the most sensible choice, as he is athletic and has some scoring game down low in the post. Just don't waste it on a washed-up veteran who won't do better than Spoon.

I think the TWolves signed James Thomas for the remainder of the season already.

Jamal Sampson might be another person the Rockets could bring in. Never hurts to have another 7 footer on the team. I think they will bring back Zendon Hamilton though.

The Rockets supposedly took a good look at him, but apparently, his work ethic is horrible (Though he is a beast on the borads).

I didn't think this deserved its own thread, but the Rockets picked up Torraye Braggs.

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Rockets Sign Torraye Braggs

HOUSTON - The Houston Rockets have signed forward Torraye Braggs, General Manager Carroll Dawson announced today.
Braggs, who had a brief stint with the Rockets during the 2003-2004 season, averaged 3.1 points and 3.1 rebounds in 11 games with Houston. The 6-8, 245-pound forward has since played with the Washington Wizards, the Yamika Sun Kings of the Continental Basketball Association and the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the Continental Basketball Association. Braggs, most recently, has been playing overseas in Russia.

The Rockets roster now stands at 12 active players: Vin Baker, Jon Barry, Ryan Bowen, Braggs, Mike James, Tracy McGrady, Dikembe Mutombo, Scott Padgett, Bob Sura, David Wesley, Clarence Weatherspoon and Yao Ming. Juwan Howard (right knee sprain), Moochie Norris (left foot plantar fasciitis) and Charlie Ward (right knee surgery) are on the injured list</div>

    No Link, Sorry.

Torraye Braggs looked good last season with us, good defender, rebounder and scrapper on offense. He more or less at least knows Van Gundy's system, so bringing him in was a good move. I liked him last season, and was puzzled when we waived him and signed Alton Ford.

I hope braggs actually gets playing time, maybe even being second string. He was good last season and his stats show he can put up some good numbers for us.

If we dropped Ward, we would've been screwed cap-wise for the next two seasons. I was sure Barrett was gonna get waived, but I loved watching him play for us. He ran the offense well.

After he gets some more experience, he might be a second string PG. But IMO, he's too small to start.

Personally, I'm glad to see Braggs get signed again. I too was very puzzled when they waived him last year to go after Alton Ford. Alton Ford plays at the 24 Hour Fitness I go to sometimes and he's not even THAT good. My only fear is that Van Gundy won't give Braggs any minutes, thus wasting the acquisition.

Braggs got some minutes during his time with us last season, but I can see your point. The truth is that he is not better than Weatherspoon. He might have an advantage in height, but other than that, Weatherspoon is superior. He'd be a good 10-12th man, but definitely not the type who could come in right now and become a valuable starter. It just gives us a collection of power forwards who should be getting just 15mpg ideally.
