    I was looking through the Free Agents out there for possible players the Lakers might be able to pick up.

    Jahidi White 6'9 :: 290lbs

    He could give the Lakers some much needed size in the frontcourt. His last team was the Charlotte Bobcats who, took him in the expansion draft for cap reasons. Previously he played for the Suns and Wizards. He would also give the Lakers a physical presence inside to do the dirty work.

    Ruben Boumtje Boumtje 7'0 :: 255lbs

    He's never really panned out in the NBA, after having a decent college career at Georgetown. He's a decent shotblocker, and he's a legit 7 footer. The Lakers need some type of defensive presence in the middle, he might be able to give them some, especially with Mihm in foul trouble

    Jelani McCoy 6'10 :: 245lbs

    He's a UCLA guy, so he should be somewhat of a fan favorite. Jelani is a good shot blocker still and he stays on the court, he's a decent rebounder. McCoy usually gets in foul trouble, but he might be able to back up Mihm as well. Playing in front of his home town fans could help ressurect his dissappointing pro career.

    Zendon Hamilton 6'11 :: 240lbs

    He's flexible enough to play the 4 or the 5 spot. Zendon is a decent player, and is aggressive on the offensive glass. He's similar to McCoy, but is a stronger rebounder, while McCoy is a better shotblocker.

    I don't expect any of these players to break out with the Lakers, but they could provide the Lakers a solid 12-15 minutes off the bench to relieve Mihm or Odom, and stop the Lakers from being forced to play small ball with Brian Grant or Brian Cook coming off the bench.

    The Lakers are not using Bobbitt at all, and they always seem to struggle inside. They might as well cut Bobbitt and bring a player who can actually give them some minutes off the bench and fill a void inside.

    Didn't McCoy win a ring with the Lakers a few seasons ago? From what I've seen of him in Toronto, he's a very strong shotblocker and a decent rebounder, but has no low post moves. He could be a good pickup though, if you're looking for some defense.

    Btw, how about Derrick Coleman? He might be a cancer and washed up, but he was productive even last season.

    Yeah Coleman would have been a good piece to try out earlier in the year, but all of the guys above are younger, so they could actually help out for the next few years to come as the Lakers rebuild around Kobe.

    I don't think McCoy was around for the title runs.

    I thought McCoy was here for the last one, guess not.

    I don't know, I really don't think any of those players would have a major effect on anything. I would just wait for the offseason and draft because there is really nothing we can do, it looks like the Lakers have thrown in the towel.

    Off Topic: I've yet to see Lamar's injury, how did it happen and is it severe?
