Well now It's offical, my bracket is totally ruined. The team I had to win It all loses in round two. The one team who I thought could give UNC the most problems is out.

Downey was so clutch and he saved Wake at least 5 times with clutch threes. As soon as Gray fouled out I pretty much knew that was that. Paul fouling out was the icing on the cake.

Well, the team I had losing to UNC in the finals is out, so I'm pretty much done. But on the bright side, practically everyone else had Wake in the finals to, so there still might be some hope for me.

All of my Elite 8 teams are still alive: Illinois, Oklahoma State, Georgia Tech, Texas Tech, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Duke, and Utah.

The door is wide open for the Huskies if they can beat GT or Louisville.

    Best. Game. Ever. [IMG]

Washington did look impressive from the highlights I saw today. People expect them to fall but they are playing good enough basketball. I still have them losing to Georgia Tech though [IMG]

This was an outstanding game. Although, I write this, heartbroken. Wake Forest is my favorite team. Chris Paul is my favorite player. This game just had me up and down. I think everyone in my neighborhood was awaken by me screaming at the television set.

Wake Forest had it going into halftime. We were up by three, there was jubilee. But then they let it go. They let West Virginia back into the damn game.

When the fourth quarter was winding down, I thought it was over then and there. When you have to start intentionally fouling, the games usually don't end in your favor. But then Taron Downey hit a three to send it into overtime.

And in overtime, Chris Paul took over. First, he hit teammate Justin Gray for a wide open three. Swish. The next trip down the floor, it was he who hit the three. The next two times down the floor, he was fouled twice. And he hit all four free throws, without even using the rim. The next trip down was a slice down the lane. He missed a runner, but managed to rip down the offensive board, and throw it back up. Two shots. He makes the first. And the one he must make ; he misses. West Virginia went down the floor, and scored. Wake Forest was down by three, hope was grim. But to shine through again, Taron Downey hit yet another three ; sending this wild game into double overtime.

And this is when Wake Forest lost their grip. Chris Paul fouled out, and I knew it was over. Without their leader, I didn't expect anything. As West Virginia kept scoring, so did Downey. But it just wasn't enough. Yet another top seed has fallen.

Sorry if I went overboard. I was venting.

The sad part is no more Downey, he played his last game for Wake and Chris Paul likely has too. His stock is so high right now I doubt he will stay.

It's true. But I will still believe in Wake Forest next year. They are a big school, they will get prospects.

But wherever Paul goes, I am definately going to follow. He is a very special player.

Oh how I would salivate if Paul ended up in the Lakers hands...if they would only trade up for him..ohh how sweet that would be..

If Charlotte manage to land Paul then they will be really set for a great future. With a core of Paul and Okafor with the inside/outside duo long with alot of cap space to sign a guy like Joe Johnson. That actually could be a good fit for CP.

I think that would be great. Paul and Okafor is a more than sturdy base for your future. And you have some other guys that could potentially develop.

I really hope Paul doesn't have to go to New Orleans.

Everyone should throw their college brackets in the garbage and just enjoy the ride. This first week has been great. I was done with Bucknell beating Kansas last night and now I am officially done with Wake as my final Four team losing. I have UNC winning it all, but at this point, who cares.

What a day of college hoops. It started with Texas Tech beating Gonzaga and it ended with a thriller of a game between West Virginia and Wake Forest as West Virginia pulled this one out in OT.

I came from work around 7:30 and I was flipping back and fourth between the Gophers/St. Francis (women's hoops) and Wake Forest/West Virginia. Wake was killing West Virginia early as I fell asleep in the couch. I got up couple of hours later and next thing you know West Virginia and Wake goes to OT. If West Virginia did not impress people from the Big East Tournament, they certainly made an impression shocking the world by beating Wake Forest by coming from behind and taking it to them in OT. WOW! John Belin has done a masterful job of coaching the Mountaineers.

I think Texas Tech had to be relieved that they won't draw Wake in the next round, but West Virginia won't be easy either even though TT has a better shot of beating them than Wake.
