Who would you guys field on YOUR all time dream team? I say "your" and not "THE" because I realize guys on my team like William Henderson and Mark Tauscher are likely not Hall of Famers.

No one was a better player than Walter Payton, whats more, no one was a better person.

I'm shocked that not one person chose Anthony Munoz for their o-line. I also thought Gonzalez wouold have led the TEs in most lists. The mere absence of Joe Montana (and Dan Marino) was the biggest factor in proving the non-scientificity of this poll.

Sorry BF1, Of course, I still would champion Montana, but at least you got Dan the Man on there.

Not a lot of room on roster, but if i were going top he would probably make it.

You put Joey Harrington on your team and you have the nerve to question the selection of Walter Payton by others? Someones been sniffing a little too much glue....

It is even more annoying considering he did not put one player equal to Walter on his entire team.

Much as I hate the Bears, I agree with BF1 on this one. I even have two Bears on my Defensive team! Good Lord!

As for Joe Montana? Eh... I never liked him. No slam on his legendary ability...just a personal dislike...

This one is a little tougher than the D.

For QB, I would take Montana and Unitas, no offense to Marino either.

RB has to be Payton. Bo Jackson would be a consideration in the Sayre-esque what if way.

FB - have to think about an all-Bears backfield here with Bronco Nagurski.

WR - Jerry Rice, Lance Alworth, Steve Largent, ?????

TE - Gotta go with Ditka or Novacek

G - Larry Allen, John Hannah
T - Anthony Munoz, Art Shell
    C - Mike Webster

K - Gotta to with Gary Anderson, although there are a couple other current players tight in the running.

    P - Ray Guy

I must have had a major brain meltdown for forgetting Art Shell on my offensive line...

    QB- Joe Montana
    Dan Marino
    RB- WALTER PAYTON
    Jim Brown
    FB- Larry Johnston
    William Henderson
    TE- Tony Gonzalez
Kellen Winslow Sr. (even though his son is a SOB)
    WR- Jerry Rice
    Lynn Swann
    Randy Moss
    Marvin Harrison
    OT- Orlando Pace, Tony Boselli
    OG- Larry Allen, Bruce Matthews
    C- Orlando Kreutz

...How come nobody else even mentioned Jim Brown as their running back?

I would have said Jim Brown...if Walter Payton never existed. [IMG]

By the way, hoodie7, I think you mean Olin Kreutz, don't you? Bit of a typo there...

Jim Brown lacked versatility. He did not catch ball, was not a great blocker, but the main reason, I forgot him [IMG]
