<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Arizona State's Ike Diogu said he still hasn't decided whether he will skip his senior season with the Sun Devils and enter the 2005 NBA draft. But if coach Rob Evans doesn't return to Tempe next season, the Pac-10's leading scorer and rebounder has an easy decision. He's gone. ?Coach Evans and the coaching staff is the biggest reason why I came to this school,'' Diogu said. ?It would be pretty tough, if he was to leave here, for me to come back. He's done so much for me . . . that would be pretty tough. When I first committed here (in 2001) and I heard he might be going to New Mexico (State), I thought I was going to have to open up my recruiting process again.'' Despite a third straight outstanding individual season from Diogu and an 18-11 overall record, ASU is likely to miss the NCAA tournament for the second year in a row. Evans has two years left on his contract but there is speculation his job could be in jeopardy since the Devils have reached the tournament only once in his seven-year tenure. But Diogu said the team has made strides this season ? they were picked to finish last in the Pac-10 preseason media poll ? and could be better next year if there is continuity. ?Our Pac-10 record isn't good, but we're 18-11 overall, and it's just disappointing some of the things that you hear,'' he said. ?It's just motivation to want to go out and do whatever it takes so those rumors don't come to pass. It's all about accepting challenges.''</div> full story
