Same deal as the Dream Team Offense...who would you field as YOUR dream defensive team, not THE defensive team?

    Here's mine...

    DE ? Reggie White
    DE ? Bruce Smith
    DL ? Joe Greene
    DL ? Merlin Olsen
(Howie Long gets an honorable mention)

    LB ? Jack Lambert
    LB ? Lawrence Taylor
    LB ? Dick Butkus
(Mike Singletary gets honorable mention here)

CB ? Deion Sanders (as much as it pains me)
CB ? Dick ?Night Train? Lane

    S ? LeRoy Butler
    S ? Ronnie Lott

You got 3 DEs and only one DT....You got 2 MLB's there....you got a Safety playing CB....you gotta come stronger to the whole than that....

The Doomsday Defense was in Dallas in the 70's....Dungy was not affiliated with it in anyway and I dont believe Sapp participated either....

I know that Dallas had the Doomsday defense I was just trying the emphasize with alliteration how good Tampa's D was then. Sorry for the confusion.

With apologies to some great players like Bednarik, Singletary, Blount, ....
Here's mind off the top of my head. I got an extra player for a flexible change between 3-4 and 4-3.

    DE - Deacon Jones
    DT - Bob Lilly
    DT - Joe Greene
DE - Reggie White (this is the one I'm not totally sure of).

    OLB - Lawrence Taylor
    ILB - Ray Nitschke
    ILB - Dick Butkus
    OLB - Jack Lambert

    CB - Deion Sanders
    CB - Dick Lane

    SS - Ronnie Lott
FS - Ken Houston (I took a liberty here as I think he was a SS. He was a ballhawk though)

I would probably take the whole '86 Bears defense. Or the Purple People Eaters of the 70's.

I'm a 4-3 type of person so here it goes, I haven't seen any of the old games since I'm young so I'll use some recent players.

    Linemen
    DE Michael Strahan
    DT Kris Jenkins
    DT Warren Sapp
    DE Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila
    Linebackers
    OLB LaVar Arrington
    MLB Ray Lewis
    OLB Terrell Suggs
    Defensive Backs
    CB Ty Law
    CB Samari Rolle
    FS Roy Williams
    SS Ed Reed

I'm hoping that choosing some of these players will invite discussions so if you are going to say something, please leave out my name.

thanks for the clarification....I thought he meant your job was to pick apart the mistakes and oversights in his posts, if that was the case, I was gonna ask the admin if we get several people to help, you know, to handle the sheer volume....
