Here's an article from the Houston Chronicle about the new Rockets PF:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Rockets signed Braggs to fill in while Juwan Howard is out with a sprained right knee, but also because he had shown enough in 11 games with the Rockets last season for coach Jeff Van Gundy to decide it was a mistake to let him go.

"He has a little bit of an understanding of what we're doing," Van Gundy said. "I know he'll play extremely hard and he'll try to get us some offensive rebounds, and he can make a 17-footer. And frankly, I screwed up last year in releasing him. ... We've got our rotation. But when he gets settled and learns what he's doing, I would have no hesitation putting him in the game."</div>

IMO JVG has high regards for him. He played 11 games for the Rockets last season averaging 3 pts and 3.3 rebounds in 12 mins. I remembered watching him last season. He's a good rebounder especially on the offensive glass and has a wide muscular body type. From my research on his stats from college, ABA,CBA and international play it seems that he's an average scorer between 10-20 pts/game, excellent rebounder: 8-12 rebs/game, good passer: 2-4 assist per game and able defender:1-2 steals/game. I think once he became adjusted to the game he'll be a nice role player for the Rockets. If he'll get his FIBA clearance he'll probably be playing tonight for the Rockets with poor Moochie going back to the IL again.

I don't believe Braggs can be an effective starter, but rather a good backup 4/5 who could give us 20 solid minutes rebounding the ball and providing a big body down low. He'll be part of the rotation. The thing is, we still don't have a legit starter and still have to make do with a few backups. Maybe that three-headed monster of Spoon, Braggs and Padgett might work, but having Howard would be best, as impossible as it is now.

well it doesnt hurt to have braggs start because we should consider which rotation at the moment that howard is out that will work for us the best i havent seen braggs play but ive heard alot of positives so far so i don tthink it would hurt to try and start him this game and have spoon/padgett back him

anyone else out there wondering like me, how much Vin Baker has left in his tank?

Rockets need a PF who can board and hit the open 15 footer... not just someone who can grab boards but has no jumper..

Weatherspoon has a pretty dependent jumper up to 18 feet, but he's hardly included in our offense now. Padgett can do it as well, even better, but he lacks the rebounding skills to be a good starter.
