Jason Richardson was named Western Conference Player of the Week for the week ending March 20, becoming the first Warriors player to win the award since Tim Hardaway did so in November, 1994...In three games played during his award-winning week, J-Rich averaged 24.0 points and 10.3 rebounds, while shooting 50.0% (29-58 FG) from the field, 37.5% (6-16 3FG) from long range and 92.3% (12-13 FT) from the line...He posted double-doubles in all three games, helping lead the Warriors to a 2-1 record with victories vs. Sacramento (3/17) and at Phoenix (3/18)...He did not play in the team?s game at Sacramento (3/20) due to personal reasons.</div>
Jeez, not even Jamison got this award? Jrich is something.

Wait, Jamison didn't make that award? Who won when Jamison scored back to back 51 pts? Kinda amazing that two out of three games were rather subpar games from Richardson. It must be the national TV thing [IMG]...

But I do remember that Bryant absolutely railed on the Warriors with a 50 point performance one time during that year and I think it was during early December.

I think all Jamison did was score. Maybe the guys who selected Jrich noticed that he was racking up a large number of assists, steals, rebounds, and blocks all at the shooting guard/forward spots and was hustling on every play trying to defend his butt off. In addition, he was sinking his free throws which he historically has been horrible at for his position.

I did notice that Jamison scored 51 points during the middle of the NBA week where the first game started and then again after the new NBA week started on the second game. So maybe Jamison did get screwed. But you would think they would decide which players got the awards based on their last couple of games rather than by 1 week time periods...

Hopefully next year he will finally make that all-star game.

If the W's can stay healthy and win a lot of games next season, Baron and Jrich could probably both be going to the allstar game. Franchise players have this knack of making other players into allstars, but Jrich was putting up allstar numbers before bdiddy so he could go on his own. In fact, had we been winning before allstar break, Jrich would have beaten out Ginobili and some others.

We're going to see a lot of new fans next season as old W fans/non W-fans jump on or jump back on the Warriors bandwagon [IMG]

He will. With Baron at his side, he should get lots more points. Also Richardson had been playing beat up the whole year. Imagine him and Baron at full health....

Not only did JRich win this week but Davis and Murphy were up for consideration based on the ESPN article.

Good for him. Glad to see JRich make the improvement this year. His consistency has improved a great deal.

Funny that Mully never won the award after 1993. I would have thought that he had at least one.

That's suprising that Murphy and Baron were getting recognition because neither of those guys were consistent on offense, but they did help the team win by getting rebounds, shooting 3's, steals, and assists. Murphy got at least one steal in his last 5 games and shot 56% from downtown 1.8 3ball shots out of 3.2 attempts as well as nearly 12 boards per game in his last 5. Baron Davis averaged 7.2 asists, 3.4 three pointers, 1.8 steals, nearly 5 boards a game, nearly a block a game in his last 5 games. Like Murphy on a bad night, he shot pretty poorly from the field overall, but 3 assists per turnover ratio isn't bad for a guy creating it as he goes along. He's made some really spectacular plays look easy and statistically it doesn't do Baron justice for what he brings to the team on both ends of the floor, leadership, energy and confidence.

And these were all games where there was few periods of rest in between. That's impressive and probably why they got recognized.

Yes. The stats I think is what they pay attention to. Not the impact. Murphy didn't have that much impact this week. This week it was Biedrins
