future Laker? <div class="quote_poster">Quoting TwinTowers:</div><div class="quote_post">What do you guys think about him? Is he the sleeper in the draft or not? Can he succeed in the pros?</div> I think he looks like a young Jimmy Jackson and I hope he falls low enough for the Lakers. He could be a great sixth man off the bench. Michael Cooper came out of New Mexico and had a great career with the Lakers.
Granger has a NBA body, and will most likely be a full-time three at the pro level. He already has good range on his shot. He'll have to work on his handles, speed and defense, but that's the case with most college players. Granger will most likely be a late first-rounder, although that stands to change depending on his workouts.
Granger has the most complete game of anyone, with the limit being that his style isn't flashy,in that he isn't a high flyer or a guy who will make (and miss) a bunch of trick shots. He will have a good long career, though he may never be a superstar,he will always be a plus, and it won't take him years to learn the basics,he knows how to play
I can't call him a sleeper considering he's being mocked in the late lottery. However, I do consider him a sleeper because no one talks about him enough. He's got range, leadership, built-body, athleticism, defensive slyness (thanks to his long arms) and decent ball-handling, which I see him turning into a 3/2 type player, rather than strictly a 3 or 3/4. Despite the dreaded "potential" label on seniors, I think he'll be fine.
Grangers role at N Mex was to play every position. He was their top shotblocker and rebounder, but often brought the ball up and set up the offense as a point, then he'd change roles, sink a 3%. I think he lead them in steals too. Very interesting
Normally there are stats where big men get good numbers and stats where small men get good numbers,he gets good numbers inall categories. Nobody else does so many things well. Now if you are not the Warriors, you should draft J Petro,he's tall.
Granger has so many areas where he is well above average that some are going to work for him at the next level, and if you see him play,he has veteran savvy,he is real aware of what's happening and has a great grasp of how the game is played. I can see others who may top him in some area, may show up on Sports Center for a highlight slam, but Granger is going to have a solid career, worst case a very good 6th man for many seasons, but I do feel he has star quality and will be a happy surprise for some team. Of the players typically listed as top 20,he is one of the least likely to be a flop.
Granger went 1 on 1 vs Hakim Warrick a couple days ago and Granger won. What do you guys think of that.

He can pretty much do it all on offense and has good physical tools to be a great defender at the next level. I can't wait to see this kid play in the NBA next season!
Granger played against competition not very good in college. So I would like to see how he does against NBA competion in the next 3 years to know if he was just a man among kids or the real deal.

From what I'm looking at Granger has came up big against the tougher opponents. Against Oregon- 19 pts, 15 rebounds, 4 steals, 4 blocks; vs. Tennessee- 20 pts, 4 rebounds, 3 blocks, 3 steals; vs Wake Forest- 24 pts, 9 rebounds, 4 blocks; vs. Utah- 15 pts, 9 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 steals; vs Utah again- 28 pts, 11 rebounds. The guy scored in double figures in every game except in one game where he had 9 pts in 20 minutes. The guy is a flat out baller! And he probably would have won the Mountain West player of the year if it wasn't for Bogut.
