I agree with Kobe 8 Ball. Both of them like to create offense off of the dribble and like to go 1-on-1 with defenders.

IMO, for both players to be succesful they don't need to co-exist with another star but rather 4 or 5 good role players that don't mind doing the dirty work while they do most of the scoring.

Two superstars can always make a great duo.

Its great if you can just add a superstar like Iverson to a team, however its not that easy.

It would really depend how much would have to be given up for A.I. in order for it to be a benefitial trade...

It would probably have to include Odom and Butler, and probably a draft pick or two. I don't know, its hard to gauge it, but A.I wouldn't go cheap.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Avery:</div><div class="quote_post">Yes, Iverson does indeed gets his teammates involved more than Kobe. And if you think otherwise you haven't been watching any basketball as of late.

Just one game after Luke Walton didn't deliver in the closing moments of the Knicks game, Kobe is taking ridiculous shots while being double teamed the following night. That just goes to show you how much confidence he has in his teammates and the willingness he has to get them involved no matter what happens.

Allen Iverson on the other hand hasn't done nothing but make his teammates better. From ex-teammate Kenny Thomas to Samuel Dalembert , Andre Iguodala and Kyle Korver, Iverson has been remarkable. Just ask me why, he is among MVP candidates while his team is just flirting at .500 not over .500? He must be doing something right beyond just individual play to rank himself in the Top 5 among MVP candidates according to many analysts and fans for that matter.

But nevertheless, what Iverson is doing with his teammates is completely different from what Kobe is doing in tinsel town. The 76ers have posted a 8-3 record when in games is decided by 2 points or less and out of those 8 wins Iverson was only involved in half of those wins. So that makes you wonder who else came up big for the 76ers in those other 4 wins? How about Kyle Korver, Marc Jackson and others? Despite Iverson ability to hit big shots after big shot he has grown to have confidence and trust in his teammates and he lets them take the big shots unlike some people. As of right now, Kobe doesn?t have near the confidence and willingness to get his teammates involved as much as Iverson. Maybe in a couple years or so Kobe will realize how to get things done the right way. I?m not going to knock Kobe all that much because this is his first year since the post-Shaq era and it?s going to take some time for him to adjust, but I?m just sick of people still claiming how Iverson is ball hog and doesn?t make the people around him better.

The reason why Iverson appears to be a ?ball hog? is because his is playing two positions. It?s just that simple and people don?t understand that not only his accountable for carrying the scoring load is he also accountable for running the offense as well. So when he is not scoring he is setting guys up, and as you watch the games he has the ball in hand non-stop which makes you come to conclusion that he is a ball hog, but in actuality he is playing two positions at the same time. Iverson has evolved a lot since his killer crossover days, and if some people still can?t realize that they must not have too much knowledge of basketball.</div>

eh, Kobe's playing two positions himself right now. As for chucking up ridiculous shots, AI does that far more than Kobe. Don't bring in one example. It's pretty clear that AI is a bigger ballhog than Kobe, no matter what argument you're trying to bring up. Problem is that he has a miserable supporting cast. Really, that isn't much of an argument you bring up... AI has had the reputation of being a hog his whole career. It'll remain that way till the end, and i've seen plenty of Philly games on NBA Tv this season. There is no excuse for AI's career FG%, only that he's jacking up more stupid shots than anyone in the league. Anyhow, funny how you bring up Luke Walton's miss in NY. Basically the story on this year's LA season.

as for this whole argument, Kobe and AI wouldn't work well together. Has nothing to do with selfishness, but they're most effective with the ball in their hands. But stars like Ray Allen or Dirk would complement them nicely.
